   Visited Butcher and Rose to celebrate my friend's birthday. The ambience of the restaurant is nice, but the restaurant itself is smaller than I expected. Our server was not very attentive. We were never asked if we would like to order more drinks and she seem more interested in other tables and not giving my friend the full attention she should have gotten for her birthday celebration. No one even came to our table and management to check to see how our food was or even to acknowledge that it was someone's birthday.. Most managers would walk around and ask how was the food or how was everything going but it did not happen for us and there's no excuse that they were busy because they were not. The food itself was mediocre. I ordered the 8 ounce filet mignon and the potato Anna my friend ordered the salmon and Glaze carrots my friend loved her salmon but my steak was no big deal. I have actually eaten better steaks elsewhere.. my friend ordered a side of 2 scallops that cost an outrageous amount of $22 that is $11 per scallop, which was definitely not worth the price. Overall, I feel that Butcher and Rose is over priced for the quality of food we were served which again was just mediocre nothing too brag about and I definitely would not recommend anyone visiting this restaurant unless they just want to say they went there.. So for me and my friend personally, this was our first visit and it will be our last. I truly feel that I wasted $275 on a meal I could have cooked at home better myself and I feel bad for my friend because I picked this restaurant to take her for her birthday.. I also would like to end my review by saying our server after getting a $50 tip did not even say goodbye or wished my friend a happy birthday as we left. She basically just ignored us which made me feel like she wasn't there to provide us with a great experience, she just wanted a tip and that's all we meant to her was money in her pocket.

   I absolutely love ! Food amazing, service spectacular , valet great ! I can’t wait to go back with my husband and my friends. Today was my daughter birthday and it was perfect place to celebrate. Thanks !

   John, our server, was amazing! He made our dining experience so fun and enjoyable. My beef Wellington was delicious. We had so much food! The crème brûlée for dessert was the best we ever had. Thanks for a wonderful Birthday celebration for my son. He loved it.

   The food was all very good, but for the prices, I would have expected the service to be outstanding, over the top (similar to other high end restaurants where the service is impeccable). We will go back for appetizers and drinks at the bar, but likely won’t be back for a sit down meal.

   Lunch in downtown Columbus is back and special! We started with the Dirty Tots - crispy, spicy on the outside, creamy on the inside with a pop of caviar with dill garnish. Fantastic. The Lobster Roll is warm, filled with plump claw meat in a buttery roll with clarified butter for dipping and crispy shoestring fries. The Roasted Chicken was beyond any roast chicken with stuffing in the chicken breast, savory glaze on perfectly crisped skin. Even the iced tea was special - the current house made creation is a Blood Orange Iced Tea. A second glass arrived just as I was finishing the first. Service is friendly and gracious, there is valet at the lunch hour, and the interior of the restaurant is a lovely mix of formal and floral. A great business or celebratory lunch spot - much needed downtown.

    Miso was almost undetectable in sea bass that arrived warm, but not hot. Paired with rather pedestrian dumplings. Excellent for $25, but underwhelming at $59. Airline chicken was excellent. Baked scallops slightly over-cooked. That said, it was our first experience here and it definitely warrants another try.
