We’ve dined here twice during overnight stays. The burgers are good enough. They are woefully understaffed. Service is slow. On a Sunday evening at 7, every booth and table was unoccupied but covered with used glasses and dishes. One waitress cannot be expected to give decent service while working the entire restaurant and bar.

We made reservations for 6pm for 4 people. We show up at 6pm and the place is packed and a sign says seat yourself. I tracked down a waitress and said we had reservations and I'm told they do not take reservations it's first come first served. We had to wait outside for 45 minutes for a table to open up. Service was horrible once we got a table.

The truth is, we didn’t stay. We got there and once they finally came over to us, it was only two or three minutes, and we told the lady that we had reservations with OpenTable, she told us that we can follow her but they were not taking reservations that evening because they had a band coming in. I was fine because there was still a table for us. I did let her know, out of courtesy, because I use OpenTable so frequently, that she needed to reach out to OpenTable and let them know when they were not taking reservations so that way people didn’t make a reservation and couldn’t be seated and be upset. She informed me, haughtily, that they turned it off on their end and they didn’t really care because they weren’t going to take them anyway. I let her know I was just trying to help out because I’d hate for someone to come in later expecting a table and not be able to be seated. We drove 35 minutes to get there. The attitude continued so we decided that was probably not the best place to eat since everything started off on the wrong foot so we drove another 45 minutes In the opposite direction to eat someplace that I had been before but my significant other had not and he was looking forward to trying. I guess I should’ve read the reviews prior to making the reservation. It sounds like a great concept, and my significant other loves hand patted hamburgers so he was really looking forward to it but after the way thing started out it just wasn’t a comfortable environment to finish out our evening.

Did even stay to eat. Went because they advertised online that they were participating in Restaurant week. When we arrived we were told that they were not participating so we left.

The young lady at the front was very nice and helpful, our server was a older guy and he was also good, but the manager not good at all he was going off on the older guy about a check at another table right in front of people, not good management at all

We went during resturant week but it wasn't very busy. There were only 3 people working at a snails pace. The food was great but the service was very slow!

It was the middle of KC Restaurant Week and we wanted to try someplace new and simple for dinner with our 8 and 5 year old kids. Burger Theory is not far and I was able to make a reservation on OpenTable. We didn’t need the RSVP as the sign indicated “Seat Yourself” when we arrived. It’s a small seating area. Looks like its the Breakfast and Bar seating for the Holiday Inn when not serving dinner. Initial impressions are “dark” and “meh.” There were only a couple open tables so we selected one and sat down. When we were placing our orders, my oldest child starts and requested French Fries as a side. We are told they are all out of fries. Excuse me?! This is a burger joint during Restaurant Week and you run out of fries?! We’re also eating fairly early by most peoples definition. We understand there are shortages and delivery delays across the Nation but this was unexpected. Our meal is fine. Our server is kind. The desserts are yummy. If I was staying at the Holiday Inn, this would be a decent place to eat if I didn’t want to leave the property. This however will unlikely be a place we drive to as our destination again.

Our first visit was during restaurant week, bad decision. The staff was not prepared for the business. We had the burger, fry and onion rings, yoir basic average meal. Staff was friendly, mixed drinks were par for a bar & grill. Not bad for a hotel restaurant!

I was able to get seated and order before the crowd arrived. The happy hour special pairs well with a good burger. I decided on the onion rings and build your own burger 🍔 Every thing was yummy. The only server was hustling the entire time and still did a great job. Pack you patience but you end up with a great burger.
