For over three decades the Ashworth by the Sea on Hampton Beach, New Hampshire has enjoyed a reputation as one of the best fine dining establishments in New England.
Breakers at the Ashworth is set in the historic Ashworth by the Sea Hotel established in 1912. In a sophisticated yet casual setting with amazing views of Hampton Beach, Ashworth by the Sea celebrates the new, contemporary look of the Breakers Restaurant and Bar in Hampton Beach, NH. Oversized windows provide spectacular ocean views, a granite-topped bar and raised stone hearth fireplace, wood flooring, custom millwork and new furniture, textiles and lighting contribute to an inviting, casual atmosphere. The bar completely wraps around what was once two separate and distinct rooms, creating one expansive space. The Breakers Restaurant now accommodates more people and the popular dance floor has been enlarged.

great service from Erin our waitress; terrific oysters, really delicious lobster, and very nice prime rib...and a good Bloody Mary, spicy the way i like it and the way i ordered it.

Went to dinner here with my husband this past Sunday. We were staying at the hotel and chose this restaurant mainly because it was so convenient. I had the clams with linguine and it was okay but it the sauce was a lot thicker than any other time I have had this dish. They should have given me a bowl for my shells. It was served with, what I guess, were homemade croutons that in my opinion were inedible. They were way to hard! My husband had the broiled seafood combo and thought is was okay but needed more seasoning.

The restaurant seemed to cater to an older crowd which wasn't bad since I am in my sixties. We were seated at a table that was very wet. When given a drink minute, there were no prices listed. When I asked the server, he didn't know how much they were and said they varied in price. The food was very good with large portions. The price was average-high being at the beach and in a resort hotel. The fisherman's platter was $28. Enjoyed the DJ and dancing in the rear of the restaurant starting at 8pm. All in all we had a good time and would go back.

IT WAS A DISASTER. My mother's 95th birthday lunch. We have been there before always had a nice table food good. Now I checked the menus on line all normal. Well we drove 3 hours for a very pedestrian crab shack menu. Totally different than past or the on line menu. The lunch room was a dark walk through that needed to be cleaned. So looked over the menu and I ask the hostess where is the regular menu. It really went down hill at that point. Told that was the dinner menu really been there several times at that time 1st time ever saw crab shack menu. Oh my mother can't eat fish and I am allergic to all corn products plus fish. What drove 3 hrs for what a green salad a hamburger no roll. So we got back in truck drove home through heavy traffic at 7pm that night I made Turkey sandwiches.

We had heard that the Ashworth was the best on Hampton Beach. Very disappointed with the service. Downright rude.

Food was good but my husband ordered broiled scallops and they came totally white. Waitress was very nice but drinks were slow.

Had the kale and bean soup extremely tasty. Mac and cheese was great and fish tacos were delish. A great stop and the halloween decorations set the mood nicely.

Looked and sounded nice online, don't be fooled, it's waaaaaay past its' prime. Our "overwhelmed" server had trouble managing the three occupied tables in the room. We shared a few large appetizers for our lunch entrees since we were told they were huge, we were given tiny bread plates to eat off of - we asked for larger plates since our nachos, wings, etc., were falling off the dishes and making a mess, the server said "I'll have to see" (?!?) and eventually and begrudgingly delivered salad plates about an inch bigger. Coffee had to be refilled by another waitress and dirty dishes were finally cleared over a 20 minute period a couple at a time. No dessert was offered. We were polite and patient and still left a 20% gratuity since she was clearly having a bad day but, wow, you can skip this one...
