Although staff were pleasant, I had to request to have the table cleaned as there was hardened food in it, not even an apology. Then the bill was put on the table when still drinking although finished eating. Then appeared with card machine asking if I needed it. Felt like we were being rushed out! Fools was lovely but expensive for what it is.

A lukewarm reception as I don’t think the gentleman who booked us in and took our menus uttered a single world to us when we arrived. He just collected the menus from their storage shelf and headed for the table. Not to worry though as (spoiler alert!) the food was excellent! It’s also fair to say he warmed up once we were seated and looked after us well. Overall I’d say this was a very enjoyable evening. We went for the Festive Set Menu which is terrific value! The portion sizes were generous too. My wife’s turkey was thick, juicy and flavourful and my Flat Iron Steak was perfect. A five star experience, just a pity about the blasé welcome.

Have to post my experience today. I walked up at 2pm and asked for a table for 1 and was turned away. After watching other groups of 2 being seated, I made a reservation for 5 mins later and walked back in. The second woman working the host stand did sincerely apologize, but when the same woman that turned me away came to take me to my table, she was mumbling excuses. Just apologize, so embarrassing.

We made a reservation and mentioned it was for my girlfriend’s birthday celebration. Our main reason for booking was to try the Beef Wellington. Upon arrival, however, we were informed it wasn’t available. Disappointed, we decided not to dine there as the experience we came for was missing. Despite staying only two minutes and not touching anything, we were still charged £8 for an untouched bottle of water.

It was amazing. Having a side with the ribeye would be the only suggestion I have. It would round the meal off.

Drinks are very expensive and despite an attentive waitress we had to retrieve our wine from the ice bucket which was located half way across the room - why it wasn't at our table I'm not sure. We had the burger and fish and chips which was lovely but the £56 for a run of the mill Savingon Blanc took the shine off our night

I have dined a few times in London and had a fantastic meal at Bread Street, however last night was very disappointing, to start with table booked two month ago for six people, we where on a table for 4 and the restaurant was half empty, meant the middle persons having huge ridge on table, never got busy while we where there. Then the food, nightmare here, the Prawn Cocktail was a load of lettuce very little dressing and one king prawn cut into 10 pieces, very poor. Then next course, the Venison Sausage, was dry on the inside, how can you cook a sausage to taste crunchy. Three people had it and two sausage where totally left and nothing was said, a total nightmare of a meal, will not be back.

Great quality food, amazing service and good value for money for the wellington experience. Wine not on the cheap side for average wine but an amazing Rioja option for with the steak.
