This was our first visit for lunch. Enjoyed the experience. Good choice on menu. Lift available for toilets upstairs for those with mobility needs. Excellent service, efficient and attentive. Only negative is the steak ordered was only luke warm however the apple crumble was the best ever!

Service was excellent, decent bottle of wine was reasonably priced, however the food was pretty average for the price point. Perfect location for visitors to Edinburgh, and the overall atmosphere and ambiance was great.

We were looking forward to our visit and select Bread Street Kitchen specifically before our trip to Edinburgh being fans of Gordon Ramsey. I ordered a pasta dish which was inedible. The pasta was over cooked then microwaved or put under a grill to become’baked’ to the point of rock hard. I showed the waiting staff how I had to hack the food from the dish, which thankfully they were not charged and offered an alternative. The problem with this is my family we’re eating their food and I wouldn’t be eating with them. Their food, a curry and burger, was unremarkable. Very disappointed and surprised. We won’t be returning.

The food was really good, but the service was slow. They seemed understaffed and we had to ask for water refills, etc. Overall the beef Wellington we had was worth it, but service was no great.

I mean, unless you’re having the steak or the beef wellington, everything else is pretty much the quality of a ready meal from Aldi. We had curries and it was poor. I watched as the “chef” Microwaved the rice and then microwaved the curry… poor for nearly £24! Steaks were nice, but plain. Everything here is an add on. You want garnish on that steak? Add on. Potatoes? Add on. It all quickly adds up. For just under £250 for 5 people (with £27.66 in service charge) with no alcohol ordered, it really is poor value for money. Shame!

First time here and loved it. Nice, relaxed atmosphere, table was upstairs by the window. Our server was really pleasant and attentive. Service was first class. The food was amazing! Could not fault anything. Our expectations were high and this place does not disappoint. Will definately be back
