   Sunday night, service was ok as was food, hospitality management was amateur. They messed up our bill and, instead of thoroughly investigating at their end, they claimed that we hadn't settled a drinks bill and started sending daily demands for payment via the hotel group email. Immediately, I asked to be sighted on the EPoS audit trail for our table - everything that was registered, all the corrective entries that the waitress made in attempting to deduct the discount we were entitled to (she'd only been shown how to do this 15 minutes earlier) and the final bill that we paid in good faith. After 4 days of asking, my requests are being ignored and I receive a daily demand for payment. Do not go here on a Sunday night, it appears to be staffed by trainees learning the job on a quiet night, and lord knows what training they actually receive because we were not impressed. I can't imagine EVER wanting to return to this brasserie and hotel again after the way they've treated me

   We had a great . The food was good but the service was excellent. Our heartfelt appreciation goes out to Joe, the duty manager, who went over and above to make our evening a great experience. Thank you. And we will see you again.

   The food here is excellent, and I enjoyed my time as a solo traveler. I'm always on the lookout for heart-healthy food, and although the menu falls short on that front (I could have asked for the food to be cooked with olive oil, but I didn't), the meal was fine. If I were to be in Chester again. I'd ask for that substitution, if they can accommodate that.

   Arrive on time for our booking, however we were left at the table for 40 minutes before we had been approached to see if we would like to order. We then ordered the steak deal and added on some bread as a starter. The bread came after 25 minute and was burnt. I had to approach a waitress to ask where the food was as we had already been there for an hour and a half and only had some bread and one drink each. The lady apologised and brought the steak over and we ordered some more drinks with her. After we had eaten we steak we went outside for 20 minutes to watch the fireworks and our drinks had still not come when we went back to the table. We decided we had had enough and asked for the bill, we had to let the staff know we did not get the drinks and could they be removed which they were along with the bread. I cannot fault the steak, it was cooked perfectly, however the experience of a whole was very disappointing and felt abit of a mess. The waitress did apologies and tried her best, but we just felt it was a shame as it would have been a lovely experience and we definitely would have stayed for more drinks if it was not for the poor slow service.

   Took over 10 mins to be greeting at our table even though I had a reservation. The afternoon tea came out rushed, the waiter didn’t explain what the sandwiches were or anything. Only had 1 tea, wasn’t offered a refill. Really slow service considering how expensive it is. Asked to take away remaining food, got it placed in a cheap paper bag. Wouldn’t go again.

   We were booked in for 7.15pm, there were not many people at all in the restaurant - say 20. There were 3 staff on, service was very very slow we had to try and get the attention of a waitress who was already changing over the tables from dinner to breakfast and did her best to not get any eye contact. Overall our experience was very poor. Totally different at breakfast the service was superb.

    We had afternoon tea for my daughter’s birthday. It’s a lovely room overlooking the race course. The staff were friendly and attentive. We really enjoyed the afternoon tea and had a lovely afternoon.
