Boiler House at Pearl is a true Texas original. Situated in the historic Pearl Brewery complex on the San Antonio River Walk, this wine-centric restaurant occupies the former “boiler house” which powered the adjacent brewery. Lead by Executive Chef Alberto "Beto" Gutierrez, the menu focuses on grilled items from local farms and markets, with a focus on “Texas ranch-style” cuisine. These delicacies are paired with extraordinary wines from around the world (available by the glass, bottle and “to-go”), full bar, live music and a casual yet energetic atmosphere. The unique list of wines boasts some of the lowest prices in the area.

The restaurant incorporates various private dining areas suitable for private or corporate functions and an expansive outdoor patio area where guests can enjoy dining alfresco. We can host groups anywhere from 9 up to 290 guests in our unique, flexible private event spaces.

The food was good, but my wife ordered a gluten free hamburger, and it came out with a regular bun! She has celiac and that would have been terrible for her! When she asked the runner if the bun was gluten free - the young girl said YES, it's gluten free! My wife was not sure, so she asked our waiter, she immediately picked up the plate and returned it to the kitchen; the bun was a regular bun. They replaced the plate with a gluten free bun and apologized several times for the mistake; they also gave us a dessert on the house! So glad my wife caught the mistake or she would have been sick for days! We think they need to retrain all the wait staff on the importance of ensuring gluten free is actually gluten free!

The food was absolutely delicious but the service was poor. My iced tea was empty the whole time and our waitress didn’t offer to refill it until we were paying the bill. I just drank the water they bring in the pitcher. We had to wait for a really long time to get the dessert menu as well. The place wasn’t super busy which is why I am surprised service was so poor.

First time for brunch. It did not disappoint. Ordered Bistro Steak and Eggs. Cooked perfect and delicious! Even the side of Texas Toast (tasted grilled) was great. Next time I'll request "softened" butter. Service was great too. Just an enjoyable start to the day.

The food was beyond phenomenal!! I had the Marinated Olives as an appetizer, prime beef tenderloin steak with Street Corn Polenta Cake as my side. That is by far the best side dish that I have ever had at a steakhouse. My wife had the Wild Boar Lasagna with burrata cheese, wild boar bolognese and arugula side salad. For dessert we had some of the best Bread Pudding that we've ever eaten. The Chef here is some kind of mad scientist, but God I love where his brain is. On top of the excellent food, we had one of the best waiters (Darren H.) that we've had in many years. We travel and eat out quite extensively and I don't make such raving reviews very often. But this place earned this review. We will be back. I highly recommend.

First time we had been here in many years, and so glad we went! The menu has changed and is so much better! Wider variety of choices and excellent cocktails. Our server, Victoria, was informative and attentive, friendly and professional. We chose outdoor seating and enjoyed the setting and ambiance. We will definitely return!

We went to the Boiler House for the first time and had a wonderful experience. The tomahawk medium rare with the sauces were delicious. The brussels sprouts on point. Our amazing waitress Cynthia recommended a fabulous bottle of wine from Caymus that we enjoyed tremendously. We ordered the bread pudding for dessert and it was outstanding. The great food coupled with awesome service has us wanting to go back sooner rather than later. We’re thinking we may hit their bloody Mary bar for brunch next weekend. It sounds super fun and delicious. My husband and I highly recommend the Boiler House.
