Blue Plate Oysterette was inspired by East Hampton summer lobster bakes and mouthwatering lunches at Montauk’s favorite roadside eateries. With influences like Pearl Oyster Bar and Mary’s Fish Camp in New York, Oysterette serves lunch and dinner seven days a week with a menu straight out of the seafood shacks you find on the East Coast. Chunky, overflowing lobster rolls, buckets of steamed clams in broth so flavorful that bread demands to be dunked, clam chowder, mussels in broth, ceviche, and raw shellfish so fresh you can smell the ocean. Sat on patio next the busy road. The some of the seafood tower was not very fresh. The oysters were fresh but very small. Scallops and jumbo shrimp were good. Grilled oysters were very flavorful but shrunk down to a small morsel. Grilled artichoke, Spanish octopus and carrot ginger salad were very good. The lobster roll (we chose hot) was very dry. Very pricey for the quality and quantity. Our server (I think Jason?) was great!

I was somewhat disappointed with the food, however the service was amazing and the ambiance as well. Overpriced in my opinion but a good experience.

Food and ambiance good, service lackluster. We had to ask our server for to refill our water glasses three times even though we’d put them out by the edge of the table so it’s easy for him to see. There was only us and two tables inside the restaurant. Staff kept passing but not being cognizant of tables to scan and see what they may need.

Outstanding clam chowder, as always. Steamed Ipswich clams were perfect. Friendly, timely and gracious service.

It was a cold night and we were seated outside next to the heater. I had to eat with my coat on. I would have preferred inside but not sure if it was warmer in there! $30 for 12 oysters and a glass of Prosecco. Can’t beat that! Oysters were just okay. Prosecco was not great. Branzino was excellent. The salad it came you was very tasty but drenched in dressing. Likely won’t go back.

A great experience all around! Enjoyed a wide variety - raw oysters of course! Which came with a glass of bubbly on Tuesday. Hand rolls variety. Crab cake and can’t miss the lobster roll. We added the “added ammo” of extra lobster and shared the single roll. It was delicious. I’m an east coast gal and know my crab and lobster and this place was well done! Service was excellent. Attentive but not intrusive. I’d advised we were in town to celebrate our 24th anniversary, and they had a special table set up - cozy corner with excellent sunset view and heaters. So nice! Highly recommend and will come again.
