    The hostess said that the restaurant was having problems with the OpenTable reservation system. We were fortunate that a table for two people was available, although there appeared to be spots available at the counter. Like many Door County locations, there were several large groups seated at tables, but the staff handled them well. The food was excellent with an amazing selection of gluten free options and accommodations. Prices were higher than some other places; however, they are appropriate given the fresh ingredients (farm to table), unique offerings, and professional service staff. We cannot wait to return, and to check out the sister Italian restaurant serving evening dinners at this location. Who would have thought an Italian restaurant would have many gluten free options?!?! Can’t wait!

    A Friday lunch that hit the spots. Artichoke salad with whipped goat cheese, pistachios, and other yummy things. Whitefish sandwich with fries. Both really delicious and obviously fresh.

    Our reservation was not found and we were begrudgingly led to an open table. We had our 6 year old grandson with us. I noticed at least half of the tables had children also. We were told there was no children’s menu and not a crayon offered to him. We know that he loves noodles and put together a delicious but expensive meal for him. We have eaten here many times before and though I’ve seen some reports about unfriendly service we have always felt welcome but I really did not feel that way this time to the point that we will not be returning

    So very fresh and delicious. I had the biscuits and gravy, which did not leave me feeling uncomfortably full. Owner was kind, courteous and attentive to each new face walking inside. First time visiting Door County and will make efforts to stop here again.

    Worth the drive! We were hungry and looking for a place with great food and an open table. Luckily, Blue Bear just started their presence on Open Table. We had delicious fancy coffees (highly recommend the bourbon vanilla latte!) and full breakfast/brunch items. We especially enjoyed the short rib hash… Tessa (co-owner) was right! Their chef (co-owner and hubby of Tessa) knows how to prep meat… melt in your mouth! Even the stove-top toasted French bread was perfect to complement our hot breakfasts on a cold morning. We also leaned that they have big plans for an Italian restaurant… look for that opening in April! Like Arnold says so passionately, “We’ll be back!!”
