Located across from Printers Alley, just two blocks from Broadway, Black Rabbit is a Restaurant & Bar with full service dinner (4PM Mon-Sat), Saturday Brunch (10AM - 2PM), the Best Happy Hour in Nashville 2022 (4-6 PM Mon-Sat; $6 Old Fashioneds, Margs, and Mules) and Live Music (9PM Fri-Sat) . The creative cocktails and large bourbon collection flow generously from the bar while steaks, chops, seafood, & local vegetables emanate from the wood-fire, open kitchen. Originally home to a furniture showroom 134 years ago and subsequently, the law office of Tommy Osborn, attorney to Jimmy Hoffa, Black Rabbit is writing their own chapter by reimagining what a local Nashville tavern and speakeasy would've been like during Prohibition... wood-fire cooking, strong cocktails, and a sophisticated atmosphere with genuine, relaxed hospitality. Locally owned and operated, we aim to show you our idea of home team hospitality when you visit Downtown Nashville.

Our server, Gabby, and the bartenders set the tone for our visit. They were both very welcoming and very helpful. Gabby explained the ‘Black Rabbit concept’ and the bartender was helpful in sharing the different selections of bourbons available. Then came the food and it was all fantastic! The elk! The pork chops! The Italian braised beef! No one was disappointed. This will be one of our first stops when we make it back to Nashville.

We came based on the good reviews. The food was good enough. It seemed as if the crab cake was premade and lacked freshness . The pork chop was better than the crab cake and the risotto was good, as well as the Brussel sprouts. The service was excellent and we enjoyed our server immensely.

The standout shared dish was the roasted cauliflower dish with tomatoes, shishitos and dukkah. To be fair, we only ordered a few items before a show at the Ryman, and we had a late lunch. But I definitely recommend trying the cauliflower as a solid side.

First time at the Black Rabbit, Jenn was our waitress. She was very friendly and service was excellent. We sat next to the fireplace, party of 4. Had the HH 2 old fashioned cocktails & a champagne to start. The old fashioned cocktails tasted nothing like an old fashion. It was orange like Aperol. Even though it was HH For $6.00 each I’d would have rather had a proper old fashioned and paid the $16. For it. My husband agreed, lesson learned from us two. We started with Rabbit Rolls. They were tasty and delicious!! Melted in your mouth good. Then we had the cauliflower. Also very delicious. Next we had 2 pork chops on the bone. The flavor was delicious but it was overcooked and tough & dry. Same with the Elk, flavors were delicious but again overcooked and too dry. If we weren’t rushed for a show at the Ryman we would have sent it back to be cooked properly. But didn’t have the time. We’d try the food here again as the flavors were there just not well executed on the cooking. Decor was cool vibe. Lots of history from the bits that Jenn told us.

We were overall fairly disappointed with the food, prices and service. Fun atmosphere though. They charge Broadway inflated prices for food that just is not that good. Very boring and bland food, especially for the price. Also, we had a table of 6 and they charged 22% gratuity. And our service was no where near worthy of 22% tip. I would not go back.

Nathan, I apologize for the poor service and bland food. I have no excuses for that, but I have shared your feedback with the team and we are doubling down our focus service and quality. Thank you for the honest review, Tommy

They have the BEST martini, try the heirloom tomato martini even if you don’t like tomato’s. My favorite martini I’ve ever had.

Absolutely DELICIOUS! Pork chops, Rabbit Rolls, risotto and bread pudding! Highly recommend the Pinot Noir. Matt (server extraordinaire) was an amazing “tour guide” for our fabulous dining experience last night. The young woman singing up front was terrific too. Highly recommend!!
