Big Daddy’s Restaurant located in Massapequa, NY opened in 1993, specializing in the foods of New Orleans, Cajun, Creole and South. Often imitated, but never duplicated, Big Daddy’s remains the “Original Home of Southern Food & Moonshine.” The atmosphere is fun, casual and colorful which you will know as soon as you enter. The newly renovated bar features Louisiana swamp cypress and old time brick. Portions are big and so are the Hurricanes.

The food was very good, but they were out of 3 dinner entrees, one being on their “special menu”. Also, they had no bread and butter again. Last year they ran out of bread on New Year’s Eve too. We had to ask our server for our free glass of champagne as advertised. She was unaware of this.

Really fun evening, great band that was on early 6:30-9 which is amazing since most music first begins at 8 or 9 pm. Exciting Cajun menu and interesting cocktails. I’m not a fan of this type of cuisine so was thrilled to have a delicious little gem salad with shrimp, something delicious and unsauced. The decor and floor plan can certainly use an updated style, lots of wasted space near the bar where folks could be spending their $$ on cocktails . Fun time, definitely recommend.

I love the place but this is my third time going there for dinner at 6 to 7 pm and they are out of bread. Really poor management. It’s the one thing when we go there to have. And music is a tad bit too loud.
