Big City Tavern is a busy, vibrant restaurant reminiscent of the great urban taverns of Chicago, New York and Boston. A stylish, classic American restaurant, Big City offers a varied menu featuring dry aged steaks, burgers, fresh seafood, salads and fresh house-made pasta of the day. Some of the more popular dishes are the Pan Roasted Salmon with Tomato and the House-Made Charcuterie. The desserts are all enticing, all house made and all delicious. The extensive wine list emphasizes California varietals by the bottle or glass. With its magnificent grand bar always busy, Big City has a constant din of energy and conviviality.     The food runner gave our appetizer to another table delaying ours. Waiter Tried to give a bogus reason as to why it happened. The food runner brought out the appetizer again and again went to the same other table. Waiter was not on top of it. Delayed everything else. Got a sorry..

    It was in a real happening spot in Fort Lauderdale and I felt safe and comfortable in this area. The restaurant had a nice friendly atmosphere to it as well as an upscale feel. The food and drinks were awesome.

    Overall, it was a good experience. We had the yellowtail snapper, the Big City Tavern salad and the Asian Calamari as an appetizer. All were excellent. The only snafu was that the salad came to the table after the main course was served. The waiter blamed it on a computer glitch and comped the salad, which was very good...glad we did not send it back and ate European style!

    I had the mahi special and my husband had a burger and soup. Everything was great and so was our server.

    The food took forever and was almost inedible. Do not go here for the food. The only person who was happy was the one who ordered a salad. Should have realized it when the restaurant was empty.

    Menus handed by hostess were covered with food grease. The waiter tried his best but service was slow and inconsistent. Appetizers were greasy. Blackened mahi sandwich was bland. Men’s restroom was absolutely disgusting. I’ve been in the restaurant in the past and the food was usually good and the service fairly decent. This latest visit was just the worst.
