   Was terrible! Do not waste your money or time. Food was average but service was terrible. Over priced! They were out of several wines, several draft beers, expresso machines were all broken- on Christmas night. Hostesses, manager and waiter were terrible and a joke. Valet service was rude! Horrible evening. Do not go here! The wine glasses had lipstick on them from previous costumers. It(and I use “it” on purpose) is a terrible place and fake elegance and very overpriced for what you get in return.

   My husband and myself stayed at The Cavalier for 3 nights. We enjoyed our experience iimmensely. The timing of all our courses were perfect. We had a wonderful table. Definitely worth the wait to make a reservation!

   We went for Christmas dinner and our server was clearly less than thrilled to be working. I won’t publicly post his name but he seemed very irritated. We were incredibly polite to him so this was shocking. I understand working Christmas is not ideal but paying customers don’t deserve to pay what they pay to be treated this way. Had I known that gratuity was automatic I would have requested a different server.

   Given the price point, we were expecting the food to be substantially better. We ended up eating at Tulu’s across the street, Tulu’’s food is outstanding.

   Unfortunately, service just wasn't great today. I don't know about other days, but our server appeared to be in a bad mood right off the bat and that kind of dampened our experience. From what I understand, a lot of the service workers called off today (Christmas) and they were short staffed so we gave him some grace. The food was okay. Nothing to call home about except maybe the pancakes. Additionally, my husband and I wanted the coffee press but the server said he couldn't find it and just gave us regular coffee without asking if we still wanted it or something else like a latte. Then he charged us for the coffee press, which my husband didn't want to complain about because it's Christmas and he didn't want to make the server's day harder by complaining. The decor was beautiful, but the atmosphere overall was snooty and not friendly at all. We didn't feel welcome there. This whole experience was a far cry from what we were expecting. I was disappointed overall.

   My party and I made a reservation for Christmas Eve dinner a month before December 24th with a clear preference of being sat inside the restaurant. I personally called Becca to make sure that my kind wish was clearly understood and will be followed up on. I was assured it would be. As the day came, we were escorted to the farthest corner of the porch area instead, although I tried my best to avoid the porch section. My objection was met with “I am sorry but we are fully booked for tonight”. Although personnel tried to figure out how to make adjustments, I decided to opt for the seat in the corner as offered from the start and not put additional stress on them despite the fact that the area is rather chilly. That’s first. Second, the whole dining experience took two hours and a half between collecting our menu choices, serving appetizers, main courses and cleaning used dishes off the table. Also, a glass of wine from another table was added to our bill in the end. So, should I have not checked and verified, we would have been overcharged. SMH. I understand that mistakes happen but not for +$235 bill where 20% charge was already included (!) which gives a server no incentive to perform above average and ours did not perform. Plates and drinks were rather thrown in front of us rather than presented as the restaurant of this caliber (according to self-proclamation) should be accustomed to. We had to constantly waive our waiter down to ask for additional items such as salt/pepper/sweetener or refill on drinks because there was no initiative on his side to inquire if we needed anything. The food was mostly tasty and savory though. I am giving four out of five for that experience. So thank you for that because everything else that makes this dinner event special and spectacular fell short of expectations. I will be back if invited as part of my friends’ events but not on my own for a long time.

    This was absolutely the worst! When I made reservations it said nothing about a fixed 3 course menu for $85 dollars. It had the regular menu on the Open Table reservation and did NOT charge anything in the reservation. We did get a kids menu. The child’s pasta was awful and had a very strange taste almost like BBQ sauce. The rockfish was dry. The service was so slow and awful. A HUGE disappointment for us all. It was terrible. Then a 20% tip was added!
