Beatrix is a neighborhood coffeehouse, restaurant and meeting place in Chicago’s River North, Streeterville, Fulton Market and Oak Brook neighborhoods. The restaurant is the brainchild of Lettuce Entertain You Enterprises’ Founder Rich Melman, Executive Partner and Divisional President Marc Jacobs and Chef Partners John Chiakulas, Rita Dever and Susan Weaver. This was our first time at Beatrix but certainly won't be our last. Food and service were both top notch. We were there for brunch. Dinner is not served until after 3pm. It is a vibrant atmospher so if you looking for intimate and quiet this is probably not the spot but if you want great food and service in a fun spot, this is the place. We will be back to try the dinner menu soon.

I made reservations for lunch with friends. Drove out from the city excited to have my favorite appetizer whipped feta dip! When arrived for our 12:30 reservation we were given brunch/breakfast menus. We asked for lunch menus and were told no we are too busy and will only offer brunch. I asked if we could order the appetizer but was told the kitchen was too busy. I had the avocado toast. It was fair.

The environment was warm and inviting. Six of us enjoyed drinks and various brunch items. The food was very tasty. I had a breakfast burrito, filled with cheesy scrambled eggs, poblanos, black beans. And a side of pineapple. The burgers were thick and juicy on a bakery bun. I would have liked a free, small basket of rolls or pastries to have with coffee

The quality of the food was good, but everything arrived cold, except the bacon. The hash browns were cold, and pretty bland. The toast and eggs were cold. The waffles were cold and the maple syrup was refrigerator cold.

We love sitting at the bar. The drinks are always on point. The food came out cold so that was disappointing. The cinnamon roll was delicious.

When walking/driving by our assumption was this was a coffee house, thanks to friends we found out this was a very good foodie type restaurant with great coffee!!
