Beatrix is a neighborhood coffeehouse, restaurant and meeting place in Chicago’s River North, Streeterville, Fulton Market and Oak Brook neighborhoods. The restaurant is the brainchild of Lettuce Entertain You Enterprises’ Founder Rich Melman, Executive Partner and Divisional President Marc Jacobs and Chef Partners John Chiakulas, Rita Dever and Susan Weaver. The menu features healthy meets delicious options, and is known for its iconic coffee and bakery counter, including signature cookies, in-house pastry favorites and our house blends from Beatrix Coffee Roasters, featuring Light, Dark, Espresso and Decaf roasts.

Waited over 80 minutes to be served our main course at table 31. I watched our food sit and die at the pass. Service overall was lackluster. Night and day difference from downtown location off of St. Clair.

Alison was literally so amazing very patient we had a bigger group we weren’t ready right away and she was like take your time and was so sweet and helped us with any questions or concerns we had I even told her I want her again as my server best birthday ever and she brought out a really good muffin so tasty definitely will be back.

Seated for lunch promptly after we checked in for our reservation. Our server Dan was friendly, attentive and answered our questions about the menu. Our beverage order was delivered quickly with the food right afterwards. We were not rushed and enjoyed our experience. Definitely will be back.

I was expecting more from the food. The salads we ordered had way too much dressing and had a extreme amount of chili powder or paprika sprinkled on top. That was not even mentioned on the menu description. Caramel pie was not what I was expecting either.
