Bay Cafe (former Bayside Betsy's location) in Provincetown, MA is a fantastic place to grab a meal for breakfast, lunch or dinner. In addition to our great menu, delicious food, and chef's specials, our restaurant is right on the water with magical views of Cape Cod Bay.

Our breakfast/Brunch menu offers our traditional comfort food regulars including pancakes and french toast. Or go all out with our variety of eggs Benedict, breakfast sandwiches, omelets, and the brunch burger (a bacon cheese burger with a fried egg).

Lunch options include Soups, salads, wings, fried fish sandwiches, burgers and seafood - including everyone's favorite lobster roll.

Dinner is just as tempting with our classic chicken parmigiana, broiled seafood sampler, and pasta carbonara.

Since this restaurant came under new ownership a couple of years ago it has been a sh*t show. The food is on par with an elementary school cafeteria and on my most recent visit they had an unrefrigerated gallon of milk with a tube stuck in it attached to their espresso machine. I feel like that’s some sort of health code violation. The manager is not in control whatsoever and seems to be both afraid of the customers and takes some sort of glee in giving them bad news. He said he was short staffed and that it would take at least a half hour to seat people and even then he couldn’t guarantee when they would be served. He said there “was something wrong with the computer system “ that was allowing them to accept reservations for tables they didn’t have yet he made no attempt to fix the situation, he disappeared into the kitchen and didn’t come out for at least 20 minutes with more and more customers arriving. The staff means well but they’re overwhelmed with what I’m sure they know as well as we do, is incompetent management/ ownership. The Bay Cafe really just needs to hang it up and close until someone with enough experience and drive to make it operate smoothly purchases it. Don’t waste your time or money.

Only thing worse than the poor service was the food. Never again!

The lobster rolls were delicious as always! Our waiters (yes more than one!) were attentive and friendly. Husband’s Bloody Mary was loaded with flavor. Carrot cake for dessert=yummy. We dine there (first as Bayside Betsy, now Bay Cafe) every year and we are happy that the food and service are still outstanding.

We arrived on time for 7:15 reservation. We were seated right away. Good so far. About 10 minutes later a server came by to take our order. We placed one alcoholic bev and rest water. We ordered calamari and baked potatoes skin for appetizers and the main entrees: BLT, Seafood platter, Shrimp platter, and 2 burgers, medium. 3 out of 5 entrees came an hour later at 8:25. 2 Burgers came 15 minutes later, both completely burnt. The restaurant offered to take one burger off the bill. We had 2 different servers and the 2nd server apologized for the burnt burgers and was nice. The first server was never seen again at our table. I could have used more than a thimble of water.

Great sunset bay dinner on the deck ! First time dining on the beautiful waterfront deck under new ownership. Greeted warmly by the host and seated at a comfortable 2 top right on the corner of the deck looking out onto Cape Cod Bay. We were attended to by several staff members along with our server working as a team to see that all our needs were satisfied. The menus were clearly descriptive and easily legible with a good variety of reasonably priced items. There were only a handful of tables seated at 7 pm outside but it filled up within a half hour. Very pleasant and diverse customers. My husband started with a Bay Breeze Cocktail which was perfectly mixed and delicious. We saw several of them served to other tables so it must be a very popular cocktail. We ordered the veggie egg rolls as a starter and was unfortunately the only down in our experience last night. They were 5 tiny bite sized commercial egg rolls. I would suggest they ditch those. The dipping sauce was fine but there was enough of it in the bowl to dip 3 times as many egg rolls. Wasteful. We settled on burgers for our entrees, my husband had the mushroom and Swiss burger with a side of onion rings and I chose the BBQ burger with caramelized onions and bacon with a side house salad and Newman’s Own brand honey mustard dressing. Both burgers were delicious, cooked to perfection and generously sized with ample toppings. My side salad was fresh and crisp and my husband’s onion rings were excellent! I would order an order of those onion rings as our appetizer next time. My husband ordered a glass of J. Lohr Chardonnay with dinner which we were surprised to see on the wine list as it is one of his favorites. We were offered dessert but we were too full. As the sun went down, the gigantic umbrellas which completely covered the deck, illuminated with built in lights. Delightful! The check was offered in a timely manner as was every item from the bar and kitchen. Based on this experience we will be back!

We had lunch here with a large group and the restaurant was perfect! They accommodated our party and everyone got exactly what they were craving to eat and drink. Staff was extremely friendly and the restaurant has such a relaxed vibe. We'll be back!

The view here was wonderful and the service very friendly but I was disappointed with the food quality. We ordered salads and were given packets of dressing you’d pick up at the grocery store; I expected a little better for the price
