Leisurely cafe by day, Bastia transforms to a Mediterranean restaurant by night and draws culinary inspiration from the sun-drenched islands of Corsica and Sardinia

Why they're an Icon

Executive chef: Tyler Akin

From the OpenTable editors: Acclaimed chef Tyler Akin is back with Bastia, his stylish Mediterranean restaurant inside Fishtown’s Anna & Bel hotel. Snag a seat at one of the green marble bar tops or at a cozy table by the fireplace to dig into seafood-forward dishes like sea urchin butter tartine paired with playful cocktails and riffs on classic aperitivi. Either way, the all-day cafe is made for lingering, just like his beloved and now-shuttered Res Ispa was.

What a fun evening!! Beautifully plated and presented food....with flavor profiles that were outside of the norm!! The service was seamless and never overbearing!! A definite "must" in the Philly for scene!

We had the fix price brunch. Offerings were unique and fresh. Four small salads to share were included. Roasted Carrot. Roasted Beet. Poached apple and fennel/citrus. The main negative is parking is difficult. They gave me the code to the valet parking lot which is five blocks away.

The torn croissant was absolutely unreal! 15/10 recommend to everyone who goes for brunch! Ambiance and service was exceptional.

We had a lovely experience at Bastia. The atmosphere was cozy and the staff were friendly and provided service like a well oil machine. The food was incredible. We hade the shaved artichoke salad -bright- tasted like sunshine. My husband had the swordfish brochettes and he could have eaten 10 more skewers. I had the homemade pasta with sausage, deliciously spicy and yummy. We finished with Pistachio gelato on olive oil cake. The perfect blend of sweet and savory. 10 out of 10 for us!

Really disappointed in the quality of food and service for the amount spent. The tuna did not taste fresh and the iberico ham was overcooked. The space itself was beautiful.

Isabella and Faith were some of the most attentive, professional, and friendly people we have ever come across during a dining experience. The ambiance was comforting and welcoming, while not being too "stuffy". The food was out. Of. This. World. I would have paid twice the price without question. Even if you're not in town, schedule a trip just to come here. Can’t wait to come back!

I think Wesley, the bartender, helped make our dinner so nice. We love to enjoy dinner at the bar and he had great recommendations and knowledgable answers for our questions. No doubt, we will be back soon!

Terrific ambiance, but the food was the star. Creative and delicious (mostly) Corsican mediterranean. This is NOT your mother's Italian or Greek fare. Interesting wine list too.
