   We enjoy Thai food, and are used to being asked how spicy we want our entrees. We weren't, which might have been a sign. All the dishes -- green curry, Thai basil, and pad Thai were only lightly spiced. The rice served with the sauce dishes was quite dry, as well. The shrimp and basil rolls were uninteresting, containing only noodles, a shrimp and a basil leaf. The dipping sauce was lively, but cold rolls at other Thai restaurants have had more flavor. Overall the food was very disappointing. The good news: the leftover green curry found its spiciness when reheated the next day, and 2 teaspoons of pad Thai sauce from the local grocery brought the leftover pad thai up to par. Other pluses: The entrees were large enough so that there were leftovers, and our server was happy to double-bag them for our trip home, so the car wouldn't smell like a kitchen.

   We just had a great experience eating at this restaurant for date night. Atmosphere was nice, food was great, and service was amazing! We will definitely be going back.

   I visited the location in Charlotte and I really liked the Lichee martini there but in the GVL location tasted like medicine, a lil disappointed by that but the food was delicious.

   The atmosphere is fine but the waiter, while pleasant, was a bit weird. He spoke so low that we couldn’t hear him and we were finished with our appetizer way before our entree order was taken. I can understand if it were busy but it wasn’t. Also, the lady spraying the tables with some substance sprayed me and the man at the other table. It even got in his water. Don’t think he was very happy about that. The meal I wanted I couldn’t even get because they were out of it or whatever the waiter said. The pad Thai was not good. The noodles tasted as if they had been sitting under a hot lamp for an hour and there was not much of a taste. The wonton appetizer was decent.

   Thai Basil is my favorite restaurant in Greenville. The food is always delicious and the ambience is urban upscale, quiet but usually active clientele. I had my wedding rehearsal dinner here last year. They did an awesome job and I think everyone enjoyed it. I have a severe food allergy and they’ve always been very responsible about keeping me safe.
