   Delicious brunch and charming interior design. Food was very tasty - we had the ham & cheese galette, lobster omelet, Caesar salad and fries and they surprised us with a little brûléed french toast for a birthday dessert. Server was lovely and attentive. Manager also stopped by at end of meal to make sure we enjoyed our food and experience. Would definitely go back for brunch and to try dinner. Prices are in line with other west loop spots. Parking can be difficult so plan ahead. Food was a tiny bit slow coming out but not excessively.

   We were excited to try Bar La Rur for the first time, but unfortunately, the experience left us disappointed. We kicked things off with espresso martinis, which were delicious and set the tone for a promising evening. For our starter, we ordered the shrimp cocktail, which featured three sizeable shrimp. However, despite their size, the shrimp were extremely chewy in texture, making them less enjoyable than we'd hoped. The dish also came with two dipping sauces, but the busser unexpectedly whisked them away before we’d even finished. After asking for a refill, it took almost 10 minutes to get more sauce, which was frustrating. For the main course, we opted for the Burger Royal. It arrived about 30 minutes after we’d ordered, but unfortunately, it was cold—across the board, none of us could finish it. The fries, overly salted to the point of inedibility, didn’t help matters. While we had a 7:30 reservation, we were done and out the door by 8:30 pm, which, for a sit-down meal, felt alarmingly rushed. Given the experience, we couldn’t help but feel that the meal fell far short of expectations, especially considering the price. Honestly, we could’ve had a far better, more satisfying meal at a place like In-N-Out Burger. While the cocktails were good, I wouldn’t recommend Bar La Rur for food—it felt overpriced and more like subpar fast food than a thoughtfully crafted dining experience. If you’re looking for a drink, though, it might be worth a visit.

   The wait to get our table was very long, hostesses seemed disorganized. Our food took pretty long as well. The food thankfully did taste good, but overall not the best service I’ve experienced.

   Went for a birthday dinner. It didn’t go great and hoping our experience is an outlier. The kitchen missed our entree orders and were delayed 1.5 hours, then mine came out wrong (I have food allergies so had to send it back) so was further delayed. The manager was prompt to correct it. We were asked to move tables to accommodate a large party. The sever was great, the manager was apologetic and kind, offering free desert but neither of us are desert people. So we agreed on Port but probably would have preferred an entree comped. It wasn’t the wow we were hoping for. We tried to stay in birthday mode and take it in stride. The appetizers and St Emilion wine were delicious!

   It was pretty empty and I met my aunt and her work friends and they were able to stand at the bar and sit at a table.

   It was great except charged for sour dough bread we ordered b4 brunch and one of our orders came with bread which we didn’t touch and think the 3%+ service charge is crappy and not necessary!

   Fantastic brunch experience. Get the American breakfast, perfect assortment of different tastes. Had a wonderful time.

   I had really high expectations for this restaurant. It’s a beautiful place. The food is just okay. I don’t think it worth the high price. The service was slow for a Wednesday lunch. For sure there are better French restaurants in town. I don’t think I will go back.

    Food was salty and the chef attempted to do too much without success. Service was mediocre. Feels like there may have been one waitress for the entire restaurant on a Sunday afternoon. Adorable place to drink and take photos. Eat somewhere else though
