We stopped for a drink after a show at the royal Albert hall, 5 minute walking distance. The barman reserved the booth for us as I phoned ahead to say we’d be late. Great cocktails, fantastic service and busy atmosphere as others had the same idea. Expected last orders at 10:15 as closed at 10:30 but was actually there until nearly 11 and last orders was around 10:30

Relaxing atmosphere with a 70’s music vibe. An Oxley Gin & Tonic and cheese board made for the perfect evening! I was a solo traveler and had a wonderful evening!

Overall I would recommend this bar, but on this occasion we had a bad experience with our booking/ customer service. On arrival we were told that the bar had not received the booking we had made through OpenTable, even though I showed the waiter the email confirmation on my phone. There was no effort by staff to investigate the error or to apologise in any way, we were just directed to a large communal table that we had to share with noisy strangers during our not-so-relaxing pre-theatre meal. I had to wait over half an hour for a cocktail because it turned out the waiter had forgotten about it, which he also didn’t apologise for. Before leaving this review I emailed the hotel to give them a chance to apologise, but my email was ignored. I have been to Bar 190 before and it is a lovely bar, but on this occasion our evening was ruined by the bad seating, even though I made the effort to book ahead, and slow/ poor customer service. I will certainly think twice about returning. On the positive side, the bar food was amazing and cocktails were lovely. I do recommend this bar, but only if you phone to check your booking first, or there is a good chance you will not get a table!

Friendly greeting, but after that service was a bit patchy and inattentive, despite there only being a few fellow diners/drinkers. Food was really good and speedily delivered, which was helpful as we were going to a matinee at the Royal Albert Hall. Prices were reasonable given the location and smart hotel environment.

Although the hotel had a lovely welcoming feel the same couldn't be said about the female staff. However the proximity to the Albert Hall was important.

Beautiful venue with friendly attentive staff, ambient lighting and perfect mood music (at sufficient volume to give an atmosphere but without impeding the ability to chat easily and relax). The food and cocktails we had were delicious and presented like little works of art! It was a bit on the pricey side but perfect for a treat, as we were out celebrating a "big" birthday! The venue is ideally suited for visiting the Royal Albert Hall - just an easy 5min walk away.

The food is average, we ordered a cheese board and very good, however the octopus is very poor. They charged us almost £ 9 for the service, although I know it is illegal in the United Kingdom for their mandatory charge, which service is very poor. The waitresses very unfriendly and as if you were doing them a favor. Although the site is spectacular, I would not return for attention.

I’ve been to Bar 190 several times and I was really disappointed in both the service and food this time. We had to repeatedly try to catch the attention of our waitress and ended up having to use the waitress serving the tables adjacent. The food came out cold and undercooked and we had to send it back, much to the disgust of the waitress who didn’t want to serve us anyway. I had two other bookings here in the next few weeks, all of which I have now cancelled. The bar is quite pricey, something I haven't minded in the past because the food, service and ambiance have made it worthwhile. Such a shame that a member of staff can ruin a popular venue.
