   Waited over an hour after our reservation time. Stood at the bar for an hour and was asked to pay for the drinks before they were poured. Unfortunate that this was our experience as we traveled from LA

   Music is ridiculously loud! Literally way too loud. My friend and I have lost our voice following coming here! Also, the reception area needs to do way better. We waited 30 mins for our table and their excuse was “we tried texting you” blaming it on not having the right # on file when they literally called me earlier that day to confirm my reservation.. regardless we were standing right there and they could’ve grabbed us so not a great first impression. The food is pretty good. Apps were great but my salmon was a bit salty. Drinks are OK. Table side service is 10/10. If I returned it would be for lunch.

   Extremely rude doorman. Front desk staff unfriendly. Decor is pretty and trendy. It is a Very loud restaurant with a dj. Service by our waiter and busboy was excellent and friendly . Cocktails very good. Huge lines for men and women’s bathrooms. Overall expensive restaurant with good food but probably won’t go back. Much better options in DC imo.

   Niko was our server and he was awesome. Probably one of the best brunches I’ve had in DC in a long time. The espresso martini’s are great as well!

   The only word to describe the experience here is FRUSTRATING. Made a 10:30pm Friday reservation and arrived early. Despite checking in repeatedly and being told "just 10 more minutes" while enjoying a drink at the bar, we waited an astounding 70 minutes to be seated. Everyone around us with reservations experienced the same excessive wait. Ironic for a place with a "2-hour table limit policy." The drink was good, but the wait was inexcusable. Save yourself the frustration and dine elsewhere in Dupont. Ontop of it they only have 4 toilets for the entire restaurant- had to wait in a 20 minute line just to use the restroom.

   I was visiting from NYC and had a great time at Balos. It’s a hot spot. The food was amazing, and the drinks were good. The waiter's recommendations were perfect.

   Had fish that did not smell great. They took it back and didn’t charge us but then took a while to bring replacement. Disappointing for such a nice place that we’ve enjoyed before. Good wine and rest of food was perfect.
