    No one else eating in restaurant Had to move table as we could smell people smoking No waiter service. I had hot cheesecake!! Defrosted too much!!

    No tartare sauce with fish and chips and scampi and chips. Instead of apologies gave us mayonnaise and hoped we wouldn’t notice!

    The staff were very friendly we didn’t have to wait long for the food which was served hot. The prof was in the empty plates. There had been a party in the afternoon and there were still people around but we found a corner which was perfect.

    The Easter roast beef was tender, the peas were crunchy (not mushy), the veggie sides were very good, all just as I like them. Kudos to the chef!

    Two course set menu not available despite being advertised outside. Wine ordered not available and alternative served without asking. Quality of meals disappointing. Service without a smile!

    Not been to balfour for many years , in fact not since we used to come to the jazz nights, the food was good, service and ambiance was also more than good. We were served by I think the manager and he was very sociable, friendly and provided us an excellent service
