Azura was decent, I dont think it was worth the price tag. Our server was pushy on alcoholic pairings. The other table received a candle and we were also celebrating a birthday and didnt get one. Food was good but didnt blow my mind.
Nothing too impressive about Azura.

Amazing experience, incredible flavours, exquisite courses (scallop ice cream, who would have thought so yummy?), server and sommelier wonderfully informative, but not intrusive.

Disappointing dinner at Azura. At this price point, the service was seriously lacking.
Ambiance - nice room, nothing special
Food - everything tasted good, but nothing exceptional or memorable
Presentation - nice, but again nothing exceptional that you would expect from a fine dining establishment
Service - this was the biggest disappointment. We did an 11 course tasting menu. We were seated and given a wine list by the hostess. We said we might want to do a wine pairing and she said our waiter would explain everything. No waiter for 15 minutes. And not a morsel of food for 45 minutes from when we were sat. Shouldn't there be an amuse bouche available almost right away? The waiter had zero personality which might not be a big deal, but we're here for an experience. No one asked how the food was or how we were doing. I think even at Pickle Barrel it's customary to say, how were the first few bites.
On the positive side - the Sommelier was very personable and made an effort to chat with us and make the evening fun.
Having said that, I wouldn't recommend the wine pairing. I don't believe it enhanced the meal and it seems like a ragtag collection of wines including from Croatia and Morocco.
I was there celebrating a birthday and they put a birthday candle in a strawberry.
I'm shocked at the positive reviews from others and I'm upset that I paid such a large bill for such a mediocre evening.

Amazing blind tasting menu with a wonderful array of flavours. I have been to many restaurants and the flavours I tasted throughout the evening were unique and new.
The service was tremendous and our waiter Scott was very attentive and accommodating. He truly made it a spectacular evening.

The whole experience was great. Loved the unique flavour combinations, attention to details and the lovely hand made celebratory card. Josh’s moctkail pairings were not only creative and complimentary but elevated the dining experience.
The service was impeccable and the staff warm and welcoming.
Thank you for a great night

We found Azura after researching tasting menus, with availability, in TO. It had good reviews so we tried it.
Food was creative and deserving of 4 stars. Service was excellent too, though we found the maître d' to be brisk with his team and getting visibly upset with them for a few delays or table service items. We found some dishes had too many flavours that landed flat when eaten together and some dishes had a mix of flavours that provided a new experience with every bite. A bit inconsistent in that regard. One of our guests opted for the up charge pasta, which included white truffles. They did not tell us what the up charge was, so we were surprised to see an additional $90 for her $148 tasting meal cost. Had she known it was 2/3 the cost of the overall meal, she would have declined. And unfortunately for her, our regular pasta was much better, which was disappointing. The last dessert, which was a house specialty of sweet mortadella. Our least favourite dish. Tasted like it was made with bacon fat, which it was.
We had specialty cocktails. They were outstanding. We also had a bottle of wine that was outstanding; from Spain and one of the less expensive bottles at $94.
Last comment is the about the plates. Every plate was so dark and the artistry of the food did not stand out, except for the very first dish. Not sure why white plates were not used? Also, for our last plate, we had an empty plate on the table while we waited for the mortadella to arrive. We turned offer the plate and saw it was from IKEA. I love IKEA but when I am enjoying a $300 meal, with drinks and tip, I honest don’t want to end the night seeing an IKEA plate.
I would give the culminating experience 3.5 stars, but since half stars are not an option, they get 4 stars. We had a good meal and great service.

Nice place for celebration! Good vibes and professional service. Food is great but just not worth to upgrade the dish for the tasting.
