Avli in suburban Winnetka has been a Chicagoland favorite since 2009 offering guests contemporary and classic Greek small plates, mains, and desserts as well as approachable Greek wines and inventive cocktails.

    The food is always great at Avli. It was very busy and the noise levels were quite high but bearable. Maybe they could play some music to drown out some of the chatter. We had the hummus and eggplant spread. Both were great. Big portions. We also had the mini chicken skewers which were delicious, and the meatballs. They were quite good although the tomato sauce on top was quite tart and tasted a bit like tomato paste. My husband liked it more than me. For dessert we had the orange pie which is actually orange cake. It is delicious. We also tried the cheesecake and chocolate filo sampler. Both were very good. We love Juan who has been our server in the past. Very attentive and friendly.

    Just the best. Great service and kind people all about. Delicious and thoughtful food without over complicating it. Always a great time and wonderful experience here with too notch everything.

    This was one of my favorite restaurants for years but now there are some key items off the menu and the gyro plate had a quarter of the meat it used to and it was all small dried up pieces.

    We had a wonderful time celebrating the holidays with friends. We ate in their outside section and with the enclosure and heaters were toasty warm. We weren’t rushed at all and had a very enjoyable meal.

    We had a great experience. Very accommodating for where we preferred to sit and the wait staff was excellent. The food was also wonderful.

    We had a Christmas celebration with 10 friends, and Henrique and everyone at Avli were outstanding! Food, drinks, vibe - all wonderful! Highly recommend this gem!
