   A homeless person entered the restaurant and harassed my father. He asked us us for “hundreds of dollars”. We were terrified and the restaurant let homeless people in. They can clearly see the homeless person entering the restaurant in the surveillance cameras. This incident ruined my appetite. The food didn’t taste so great and is too acidic. The only dish I thought was good is the chicken for $42, but the restaurant should reduce the levels of acidic foods in the dishes. I will not visit here because the security is not good and the restaurant let homeless people in the restaurant. The cabbage was extremely burnt and unsafe for consumption due to high rates of harmful compounds such as acrylamide and polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons. I knew that the cabbage was cooked in coal fire but you outweigh the legitimate amounts of burnt aromatic compounds that are considered safe for consumption. If the restaurant respected me as their customer, I would tell them in private about my food review. However, the manager never bothered to apologize for the incident with the homeless harassing me. This is uncalled for and I was worried for my safety.

   Everything was delicious. A fantastic cocktail and wine list. We will dream of having this evening and meal again. This was a wonderful experience and the date night we needed. Get the chorizo bacon wrapped dates. They are divine.

   The food was amazing, but the staff made the experience. I have Celiac disease, and the staff worked with me--even cooking my items in separate spaces--to ensure I didn't get sick. The pork shoulder and the woodfired calamari were the favorites. Absolutely wonderful.

   Food was a little cold and we were seated at the bar even though many more desirable tables were available because it was late.

   We have frequently enjoyed dining at Avec and Avec north. But recently we have found the food at Avec North exciting, innovative, complex and delightfully delicious The service is excellent ; every one has been very helpful Avec North should get at least a star in Michelin guide

   Overall, I throughly enjoyed Avec. And will be back again. But there were hits and misses. 2 out of 3 dishes we had were incredible. The last was okay. But I was really expecting 3 of 3 to be incredible. We had… Medjool Dates (Incredible. A fusion between a traditional bacon wrapped date and meatballs) The tagliatelle with beef and olives (Okay. Good pasta but bland with little beef) Slow roasted pork shoulder (Incredible. An innovative combination of complex flavors you don’t see in a typical pork shoulder dish) Atmosphere was contemporary and comfortable. There’s a moderate amount of noise and you can feel energy in the room which is nice. And we still found it easy to hear each other and converse, which was also nice. My biggest knock was the service. Waiter was friendly but we found ourselves constantly looking for him. Also they include a hospitality fee and their auto tip includes the fee in the subtotal (ex: The automatic 20% tip includes fees in the subtotal not food & drink by itself)… And overcharging for lack luster service is “disappointing” to say the least. All said, i do recommend Avec. And will be back again.
