Augie's is just the best little place for French food. We were a party of four, seated upstairs t 6:45p. I brought some sparkling to start, and Ben, our server, handled it like a pro. Food was excellent -- the sauce on my salmon was the star of my meal. Some of us had the butter lettuce salad, which was HUGE. Throughout, Ben was attentive but not overpresent. We had a long meal, filled with conversation, but never felt rushed. I believe we were the last patrons to leave the restaurant (with a nice bag of leftovers). Our companions were very impressed by the food and the service. Just a lovely evening. Highly recommended.

We tried Augie's French for the first time for lunch the day after Christmas. The food was excellent, classic French bistro style. Service was excellent. My only minor complaint is that the prices were high considering this was lunch (looks like the prices are the same for lunch and dinner).

The food at Augier's is VERY good. The only thing that would be great is more consistency on the traditional "garlic butter, parsley, Pernod escargot" -- these are very good and we order them every time. Sometimes they are a bit under-seasoned, otherwise they are perfection. Steak Frites = totally recommend. Beef Cheek Bourguignon = totally recommend. **New to the menu -- Smoked Duck Sausage Cassoulet Style = get it while they have it on the menu! YUM! Appetizer -- Wild Caught Frog Legs Provencal with garlic & parsley = good. Side -- Pommes Lyonnaise = totally recommend. Dessert -- Classic Vanilla Creme Brulee = Starks have this down pat--the best creme brulee in town. Cocktail -- French Pearl = love it.

This felt like being in France. Our waiter was even French. Everything was delicious and service was outstanding. It is always a treat for us to dine at Augie's. Thank you Starks for opening this special place.

Coquille St Jacques, beef Bourgogne, and duck Boudin cassoulet are dynamite. Crème brûlée prepared perfectly—good crack. Well attended too and no rush dining. French 75 cocktail was perfect! Only suggestion would be a scotch whiskey for the older crowd like a Johnnie Walker red. Not everyone likes a bourbon Manhattan.

Since we had a wonderful first time experience at Augie’s, I decided to come back for wife’s birthday. Unfortunately, this time everything was just subpar, it didn’t meet the expectations that was previously set. Entrees took ~50 mins to come out, and when they did, the dover sole was cold and the escargot were drenched in butter but bland. Very possible that it was a busy Saturday night or just an off night. May give Augie’s another try when the occasion is right, but I would definitely set my expectations accordingly this time.

Menu selection is superb—something for everyone. Nice selection of specials as well. Noise level is more manageable at lunchtime; dinner can be challenging. A little pricey for lunch. Interior design is fabulous and reflects the French bistro vibe perfectly.
