   As with most of our visits to Arden Waikiki, this was another winner....5 stars all around. The environment is a welcoming one, and since we go there fairly often, we are recognized and are called by our first names---not in a rude way, but as friends greeting friends. The menu hadn't changed much since our last visit 6 weeks ago, so we ordered our favorite dishes, which were served with beautiful presentation and tasted as great. There weren't many people there yet as we usual go out for early dinners. The weather was perfect, giving us a pleasing view of Diamond Head and Kapiolani Park. It's just so calming. Chef Amanda's house-made miso ice cream is to die for. Needless to say, we will be back.

   I started my evening waiting for my friend at the bar and took advantage of the happy hour. Nice cocktail and wine/beer offerings with a few small bites are listed on the menu. I had the spritz cocktail which was light and refreshing! For dinner we had the hamachi crudo (the fish was ultra fresh and had a nice texture; coupled with a nice sauce and toppings, the flavors were subtle yet complex), the gem salad with a unique (=good and tasty) creamy green goddess dressing, the pepper-encrusted ahi (perfectly prepared), and the mushroom rice. All this was probably too much for the two of us as the portions of each dish are prepared for two (next time we'll order one less dish!) Our only complaint was the cocktail my friend ordered: it arrived with a huge piece of ice and what looked like a 'short pour'--she had to order another, and at $20 each, she expected better. Luckily, the server corrected the next cocktail and that one arrived with a much better quantity. The atmosphere is nice enough but given how cavernous the dining area is, I would've liked the lighting to be more intimate and cozy to match the higher end dining experience of the food. I found the canister lighting to be too harsh and 'bright'. Overall, the dining experience was really good. I'd return again to try other dishes, too.

   My family had an an amazing time here. Food and drinks were excellent. We had the ulu (my favorite), romaine salad (different, but sooo good) and the poke to start. We got to try a little of a lot of dishes. We loved that we could share the plates. Everyone had a favorite dish, and there wasn’t anything that someone didn’t like. It was my birthday and our host sang me happy birthday after we got set (she was so good!). The manager gave a recommendation for the oxtail with udon noodles and it was my favorite main dish. Overall 10/10 food and experience and will definitely go again and recommend to others.

   The hostess was amazing!! We were greeted and had a great welcome. Got to our table and sat down. Our server came and said a few things took our drink order then it took awhile for us to get our food order in which someone else actually came to take our order. First appetizer came out fast. There was only about 4-5 other tables in the whole restaurant. T he rest of our food took a long time to come. Cauliflower was good but $40 for two pieces is crazy!!! Finally food came. Water and drinks were empty. Never got a second drink. Water got refilled once. Server was on the corner reading a book the whole time. At the end we paid in cash a ridiculous amount for the food. No other tables but still took 10 minutes to get our change. Worst experience

   Hidden gem! Fantastic food and service, interesting menu items and a service staff who are genuinely interested in your experience and feedback. Highly recommend the 4-course sampler. Not inexpensive, but a relative bargain given the high quality of food and its portion sizes. The dessert was amazing!

   We had three dishes and they were all outstanding. Incredibly creative and delicious. Anyone visiting Waikiki must give this place a try if you love food, all the more so. it is at the far eastern end of Waikiki and therefore a little out of the way (20 - 25 min walk for the centre of Waikiki or a five minute drive) but well worth it. In addition to the great food, the service was impeccable. very good wine selection, fantastic cocktails as well. Can't say enough good things about this restaurant.
