The outside of building isn't much to look at, but very nice inside with lots of plants hanging from ceiling. Service was attentive and food was delicious. Will definitely want to go back when on Portland again.

When you walk into this place, it feels 'happy.' The staff is helping each other out, the host is engaging with those who are waiting. The food is incredible and the wines were great.

Dining at Akadi was delight and a treat. The food was excellent, the service was warm, and the ambiance was fantastic, I highly recommend you visit!

The food is absolutely fantastic. Would go again any time. The service is not the best but is better (I think) than the other reviews make it sound, and is simply a question of wait staff per table IMO, so it could be resolved at any time. They had three servers for about 75 patrons, and each had to jump between that and the host stand. Our waiter was thoughtful and brought out a sampler of all their hot sauces for us when we asked about it, to test dip with. With the labor shortage where it is I’m happy with it, particularly because as I said the food is just, absolutely freaking incredible. Had peanut stew with beef, both types of samosas, and a tomato stew.

Great staff and excellent food. They also had live music the night we were there. They were also super busy and the drinks / appetizers took a long time. But the food is really good and different and the wait staff excellent. We had 6 people in our group and everyone agreed we would be back for the amazing food.

I was visiting Portland and I knew I had to try Akadi. I’ve only had west African food once before and couldn’t wait to experience it again. Akadi surpassed my expectations. The stews we ordered (the peanut and the spinach stew) were so rich and delicious. The fufu is soft and fresh, it basically melts in your mouth. The restaurant itself is beautiful. Plants hand everywhere. If I could eat here everyday I would.

The wings are a particular highlight, but everything was excellent. The Jollof, the fish, the goat stew, the peanut stew... all worth your time. What a treat.

Excellent food and staff! The lentil samosas are TO DIE FOR. The spinach stew with lamb and fufu was top notch. We really enjoyed our meal.

Service sucked from beginning to end. We made a reservation and when we arrived we were told to give them a minute to find an open table. Took them about 15 minutes to do so. Bartender told me she forgot to strain my cocktail so I had to ask her to strain it. No water refills. No one came to check on us to see if we needed anything. Food was decent but nothing to write home about. Came on a Thursday night where there was a dance class being taught. People kept bumping into our table and the noise level was ridiculously loud. I’ve heard great things about this place but I unfortunately won’t be back after this experience. Extremely disappointed.
