French native Emmanuel Langalde and his wife Megan opened French bistro Aixois back in 2001. Aixois is conveniently located in the Crestwood Shops on the Trolley Trail. Noted for having the best outdoor patio in Kansas City, the atmosphere is just one of the things that keep people returning time-and-time again. The food is divine and the service is impeccable. Chef Emmanuel uses all organic, fresh, seasonal ingredients and locally sourced products to create his French recipes. Dine at Aixois for breakfast, lunch or dinner. Enjoy one of the succulent quiches, a fruit and cheese platter with happy hour or entrees like Duck Leg Confit. The extensive wine list is sure to have a vino that will pair perfectly with your meal.

One of the best places in all of KC. Authentic and delicious French food in a warm and comfortable setting. When the weather's warm the patio can NOT be beat.

We love Aixois! Wonderful French atmosphere, authentic French cuisine and great service (most of the time). A true favorite in the neighborhood - especially on a nice day when you can sit outside!!

Service for two on a Sunday evening took 2 hours, food wasn't very warm and not the best tasting. We left disappointed and wont be back. We'd rather spend money where the service and food is worth it for the price tag.

Sunday night was a quiet night, not packed, so noise level was low. The food was all excellent. Service was super, but as noted, not overly crowded. The staff was all friendly attentive, & knowledgeable, so I suspect service is always good. Ingredients were all fresh and high quality. Preparation perfect, mussels cooked just right. Definite return to this site.

I arrived at 1:00 on a Sunday. The restaurant was lively and very noisy. The waitress was friendly and helpful, but the food was a disappointment. The scrambled eggs were good, but unremarkable, the sliver of ham was dry and overcooked, and the toast was not crisp. Definitely not worth the price, in my mind.

I met a friend for a birthday brunch on a Sunday morning. We were able to sit for a long time without being rushed out. The food was good as was the service. I will be back!

Excellent experience re: food, service, ambiance. However, beware of sitting in the north section of the restaurant--a large party was seated there (20 pp or so) and it was so noisy we had to lean over the table and practically shout the conversation.

We went on a Saturday night during Restaurant Week so the restaurant was packed. Both the staff and the kitchen did an excellent job of managing the crowds, although it did take a little while to get our entrees. I would say the food was good quality and well prepared. It was not the dazzling, knock-your-socks-off food that some French restaurants in larger cities are capable of. But overall, the entire meal was very enjoyable. We especially loved the onion soup and the profiteroles.

We ate dinner here (early) during restaurant week- it was packed, and that was likely why. The food was delicious- I had the chicken Paillard with mashed potatoes, the french onion soup (SO good) and a pastry/ice cream desert (I can't remember the name). I also had a great cocktail- the "Crestwood"- so yummy. My husband was still talking about his dessert five days later. A little pricey normally, but very good and a nice place.

Steak wasn't fresh, but frozen. My date said her chicken was amazing so no complaints. The services was good as well. Was a bit loud at first though, other parties were enjoying their time.
