   We really enjoyed the afternoon tea. Would have preferred some different flavouring in sandwiches, maybe cheese and onion, prawn etc but apart from that, really nice.

   Booked a table inside but such a nice day we sat outside. Staff were very accommodating and brought our tea out. Service very good. Sandwiches left a lot to be desired, thought at the price we may have had smoked salmon or tuna not mackerel! Which I’m sure you’ll agree is an acquired taste! Scones were delicious warm and very light. Lemon posset far too sweet and mini cakes were average. All in all a mixed bag but room for improvement.

   The waiter (Callum) was very friendly and polite. Nothing was too much trouble. The scones were nice but I thought the cake selection was poor and a little bland

   Service was pleasant, however room was minimal, no flowers, decoration, items such as menus, chairs, carpet were tired. Sandwiches were reasonable, quality of cheese poor. Scones and especially cakes were very disappointing. Lacked flavour and did not appear to be home made or freshly baked, rather bought in and defrosted. Disappointing experience for such a grand building and definitely not as per photo advertising. Would not recommend.

   Staff welcome and friendly. Presentation of food was fresh, tasty and plentiful. As it was a birthday celebration for an elderly lady a plate was presented with a message of congratulations together with a birthday titbit. She was delighted

   Delicious afternoon tea! Freshly made sandwiches with interesting fillings! Also freshly made warm scones. A lovely selection of cakes and as much tea and coffee as we wanted. Efficient, professional and friendly service. Everything was super clean. We were the only people in the room, a beautifully decorated and cosy room, which made it extra special. We go every year just after Christmas and it never disappoints. We will definitely be going back! 100% recommendable.

   The quality of the food was excellent. A good selection of sandwiches and cakes. Excellent scones. Quantity of jam and cream was not enough for 4 scones. We were not advised about the different teas available, despite the menu stating that there was a selection. My husband asked for decaf coffee but thinks he was served regular as he experienced increased pulse rate. The ambience of the tea room was lacking as it was very quiet. Very different experience to a London hotel but the price was very good.

    Staff were lovely and friendly. Food was freshly made and very tasty. The only downside was the price of the drinks but it was a hotel so expected this.
