Bread was stale and on focaccia (who uses focaccia for tea sandwiches?). When we complained, they commented that they were likely refrigerated beforehand, which means they were not freshly made. Wait staff was nice but clueless. This was overpriced and just bad. Definitely not a traditional English afternoon tea…

I booked for a birthday party if two, staff upon arrival asked for my voucher and took it, we were ushered to a congested table despite lots of vacancies and i specifically asked for a separate table far from crowd due to compromised immune system but when i asked the waiter responded, “does it matter” they have forgotten that we are still having a pandemic! The restaurant was Not full.lots of free table and numerous staff who seemed unsure and confused.I arrived 10 minutes before my booking but my order arrived 1 hour after. When i asked what on the menu, the rather sweet waitress said, she will come back cause she was new to the restaurant but she was apologetic. When i asked for the bill, i was given and charged for the afternoon tea and Only corrected when i said, i had a voucher, why it wasn’t deducted. the tea service was rusted and i need to point it to the lady serving. She came back with numerous choices around 5x uncleaned tea strainers saying the stain doesn’t go away but after i asked for top up she came back with a polished one and she pointed it up to me that “Now, its cleaned and polished “🤪i have tea service and strainers at home so I know it can be cleaned if done properly. It was awkward and unpleasant experience, food was mediocre, nothing special. In my reservation, i asked for no mayonnaise because of allergies but they didn’t bothered checking., i have to asked many times which ones has mayonnaise on it, overall, nit very impressed, food could be good but service was very substandard. I dont think i shall recommend it to my friends who are regular afternoon tea goers. I came to try the carbonnel et walker chocolate menu but i was very disappointed and embarrassed to my guest who has a very discerning taste as a restauranteur. Bad experience, poor service, staff arguing in front of customers. I wont recommend it to people with discerning 0r particular taste at all.

A lovely couple of hours in the heart of Mayfair; attentive, warm and welcoming staff, a lovely setting and reasonably priced afternoon tea (considering London prices).

An experience to remember. We had the wonderful chocolate afternoon tea over the weekend, and I cannot recommend it enough. We have had a number of afternoon teas in London, and this one was top of the pile. Everything from the service to the taste to the incredible selection was outstanding. Will definitely be returning.

Wonderful afternoon tea! I don’t normally leave reviews but felt I should this time. Service was great and very attentive- the staff really looked after us. We were very impressed with the food offering and were very full up after requesting more sandwiches. They let us take some of the desserts home as we could not finish. Tea was great and we were offered many top ups plus coffee. Ambience very calm and relaxed (not many people I assume due to covid) but overall great atmosphere. We loved our cappuccino! Our favourite sandwich by far was the chicken and truffle but for non-meat eaters the courgette pesto one was also lovely. Thank you again
