Lots of new staff that weren’t too sure how afternoon tea operated meant a delay is service. Not all Tea options were available and no discount was offered. Food was plentiful and tasty though. Probably won’t return however.

The best afternoon tea we have had in the South. Pace yourself as they are very generous portions! They will give you a take away box for any leftovers. Have been recommending to friends. Will definitely go back and looking forward to the Festive version at Christmas.

Lovely setting, quiet, lovely service, good value, only one food item that was not very nice (mini veggie wraps cheapened the experience) I would have preferred another brioche variation. Everything else was delicious. I would have liked a ‘tea’ & coffee menu selection. It was literally just ‘tea or coffee’. It’s nice to choose.

Food was excellent, there was plenty of options and plenty of food! We were given the choice of sitting in or outside and chose outside due to it being a sunny day.

We visited Bartley Lodge for afternoon tea to celebrate my wife's 60th birthday. The kitchen staff kindly put a sparkler into a small cake on a plate with piped chocolate 'Happy Birthday' on it, which was a lovely touch. The afternoon tea was a real breath of fresh air, since unlike many teas this had no sandwiches but the savoury items included quiche, slices of homemade sausage roll (excellent) and ham salad sliders. All items had been produced to a very high standard, the scones and cream were particularly nice ! We were seated in a small ante room off the main dining area, bright and sunny with large windows on three sides allowing views over the garden and surrounding countryside. Unobtrusive piped music was played with a mix of 1980s and 1990s pop songs. The staff were ideally attentive, with extra tea as we required it. The staff were led by Paulo, who kindly provided us with boxes to take away the items we couldn't finish, and he showed us some of the other rooms in the Lodge with many historical items. All in all a wonderful experience, and we would certainly consider returning. Thank you Paulo and the team !

A bit disappointing, nothing special. Shown into the conservatory area, a nice setting with pleasant views but a little noisy. The waiter was placing 2 glasses on the table and we were asked what we would like to drink, We said tea and he went away and brought back the tea, nothing was said about did we require any water or anything else. Food then arrived. Not impressed. Must say though the sausage roll was substantial and very nice. No sandwiches but a funny brioche with ham, ok but not impressed!. There was also a thick naan that was filled with what I can only describe as left over mediteranian vegetables from the previous evening. I struggled through mine but my wife did not touch hers!. There were a few cakes but nothing magical. At no time during our time at the table did anyone visit and ask if everything was ok and did we require anything else. Sadly we will not be returning.
