    Paying homage to Oakland history-about 100 years ago there was a lounge and club called the VARSITY LOUNGE located in our same location, who knew! In digging up old Oakland memorabilia, we found an old menu. To our surprise-they were well known for two things the Varsity Martini and Conga Lines!! While we aren’t ready for a conga, we are ready for the Varsity Martini and other drink specials. Come join us every day in our downstairs café, and our upstairs bar Monday through Saturday.

    Acre never disappoints. This was no exception. There was a delay in the kitchen and food was taking longer than usual to come out. We barely noticed because we were with old friends catching up. But the manager came out and apologized and brought us a free appetizer and comped another round of drinks, so we were all good!

    This a great place with good food and hard working staff. We dined in the cafe downstairs during happy hour. It was kind of noisy but we could still have a conversation. The potato pizza and the rigatoni were excellent. We shared the ice cream which was more than enough for three people.

    Gracious service, busy but not over loud. The food was good, especially the shrimp and meatball starters. My only hope is that they have a few more entree selections, maybe a seafood dish and a braise for winter. Overall, a very good evening.

    The restaurant is very charming. The stuff is super Helpful and friendly. All the items from the menu was delicious. If i had to complain about something it would be the olive oil on the chocolate cake. I will go back many times and encourage you to go too.
