When a place has middle of the road food they really need to make up for it with the service. Conversely if the service is terrible the food needs to stand out. Our trip to Achara was a major disappointment on both fronts. The food was okay, though nothing to write home about. Between four of us we tried three different started and three different mains, none of which were terrible but none were great. The real issue was the service. The disinrerested disorganised experience spoke of a real problem at the heart of the place. We were served by up to four staff with no cohesion and long delays. At one point when explaining the huge delay between our starters and mains the server blamed us for ordering small plates as starters as “usually we serve things together” - fair point, if we had been told that when ordering! They must have realised we we’re disappointed as a complimentary round of drinks showed up on the bill, but that’s the only way we knew, they never told us or apologised. Overall a real shame, we really wanted to enjoy our meal and make a repeat trip but after the huge disappointment we won’t be back. Instead we will stick to Crudo, its streets ahead!

Very disappointing experience. Arrived, just sat down and was abruptly told the table was needed back in less than 90 mins (7.10pm), no hi or welcome. After we finished our starters manager came back and informed us the table was needed back in 10 mins (6.50pm). We informed the manager that the time was different to earlier, we had not received main course and if they wanted us gone quickly they should serve the food quicker. Terrible service & a pity as the food was good. We won’t be back.

Wine on the list that I ordered was not the same as I was served. I asked for 3 rios , I got a different wine from the same wine producer. No big deal it was fine . But at leat get your wine menu right. Small plates were fine , but really dull . Main , seabass was really good full of flavour and enjoyable. Other main, short rib , was beyond a joke , salty ...really salty ...to the point of not edible. Main. Gripe , we addressed the awful beef dish to staff . Acknowledged but zero sign of the manager to address the issue, nothing . We had to request the dish be removed from the bill , it was . But really bad service , rare night out , disappointing main , zero interaction. Will not return or recommend, it's not that hard to address customer complaints, but at the very least, approach your clientele and look after them.
