Please note - standard tables are located in our main dining room and covered atrium room. High top tables are in our intimate, cozy wine bar towards the front of the restaurant. You can reserve the chef's counter as well. Walk-in reservations welcome.

A16 is a Michelin rated and James Beard Award Winning restaurant bringing the delicious and hospitable traditions of lively Campania to San Francisco. The chic, rustic/modernist venue is named after the motorway that transverses the South of Italy. Executive Chef Yosuke Machida carefully selects local, organic produce and meats to prepare a daily menu specializing in wood oven-fired Neapolitan pizza, braised meatballs, vibrant salads, pasta and local meats and seafood dishes. Owner Shelley Lindgren works closely with a well-versed, hospitable service team to bring one of the SF Bay Area's celebrated wine and food destinations.

Negative review and experience. Food was good as usual. However… Brought good friends to dine with us here. Completely appalled as we were asked (told it was time to) by hostess to vacate the table before we’d even been there two hours. Hostess was quite rude about it and again it wasn’t even before the “allotted” time was completed. Table of 10 next to us sat down same time and was still going strong and loud (not asked to vacate). Ruined the whole experience. When I spoke with staff about it as we were leaving, she tried to apologize, which was really unhelpful. For a $500 meal we expected a better experience. And we frequent here often and live nearby.

Food was great as was the ambience. Our dinner for a party of three ended up being three hours long; the service was poor. After our first drink, we were never asked or offered anything else. Two parties at the table next to us came and went by the time we left. Overall, maybe it was an off night, I’d be willing to try it again.

Beautiful setting inside the restaurant; happening spot. Delicious Italian food with great flavors. Lovely wine list. Only downside is that they don't have a hard liquor license so no cocktails outside of wine cocktails.

We were seated outside which was ok but really cold. The heaters need to be much stronger and larger. Unless you’re sitting directly underneath them the heaters don’t keep you warm.

A very noticeable decline in food quality and service. I have eaten here many, many times. Pizza was soggy, pasta had little flavor…on the bright side, we had an excellent bottle of wine
