   Excellent as always. Although not cheap, it’s very good value because the standard of cooking is so high and so consistent. Also some lovely wines on the list.

   Very interesting menu. The smoked eel vol au vent was an unusual find, faultlessly executed. The duck was delicious and it’s presentation was superb. Two people had kept room for dessert (not me) but reports were excellent. A very special, indulgent evening!

    Food was good, but didn’t quite live up to our expectations. Service was surprisingly not as friendly, warm or helpful as it should be. I ordered desert and the wrong desert came. When I explained this, the heavily accented waiter, angrily said he had repeated my order. Wine was not great for the price. Overall we left feeling a little disappointed with the whole meal.
