   Overall, the four of us very much enjoyed 54 Mint. We were seated downstairs, although the upstairs had much better ambiance. Two of us had an Italian white wine for cocktails, and one had the smoky old-fashioned. The two raved about their wine, whereas there was no smoke taste to the old-fashioned and was just OK. Our two rib-eye steaks were excellent! Many times the rib-eyes can have many “fat pockets” to give the steak moisture. These were high-quality steaks as they were moist and flavorful without all the fat. One had a wonderful experience with the Mary’s brand chicken. The other person had the fettuccini pasta with beef ragu sauce and she said it was excellent. We followed our main courses with coffee and scoops of blood-orange sorbet and chocolate gelato. I would say we all left satisfied and would definitely return.

   Waiter was extremely rude, 2 pasta dishes were cold and should have been warm/hot. Tried to seat us in the dundgeon-downstairs with no windows on a beautiful day. We reminded him we always sit upstairs and did not want to go down those stairs-we're all in our 80's. Just not a good experience at all-we will not return even though we almost always go there when we're going to the Golden Gate theater. We'll find a new place.

   Dined at 54 Mint before a show. Negroni and Elderflower cocktails were excellent as were the Suppli Al Telefono croquettes. Unfortunately the entrees missed the mark. We had the swordfish special, which featured a fine accompaniment of asparagus, fresh green beans and carrots. The problem was the fish itself was not fresh to the point where a “fishy taste” bled into the vegetables. Our other main was the Tonnarelli Cacio e Pepe. While the pasta had a great texture and a flavorful sauce, it arrived to the table cold. The service was attentive and we likely could have sent our entrees back, but we had a show to see. For a mid priced restaurant perhaps I would be more forgiving, but when paying over $200, I have higher expectations.

   We had an incredible experience from the moment we arrived, starting with the beautiful décor and warm welcome. The atmosphere was cozy and inviting, and the staff was always attentive, ensuring we enjoyed every moment to the fullest. The menu was an absolute delight, featuring impeccably crafted dishes bursting with flavor. Each bite transported us straight to the heart of Italy. To top it all off, we chose the tiramisu, which was undoubtedly the perfect way to end our evening on a memorable note. A heartfelt thank you to the entire team for their care and dedication, especially to the wonderful and attentive Matthew and Rodrigo, who made this experience even more special.    Since 2014, this restaurant has been a cherished destination of mine, consistently exceeding expectations. Tonight’s black truffle mushroom risotto was beautifully done—rich and aromatic without being overwhelming. Even at the bar, the service was warm and attentive, making the whole experience feel effortlessly welcoming. And the tiramisu? Simply exquisite—light, velvety, and perfectly balanced. A perfect choice for a pre-theater dinner—unfussy, delicious, and exactly what you want before a night out.

   We enjoy coming here on theater nights. I had the Smoked Old Fashioned to start and it was delicately balanced and delicious. The food is always good. I had the chicken and truffled mashed potatoes. The chicken was cooked perfectly. Crispy outside and juicy inside. Alberto was a very attentive, knowledgeable, and friendly waiter. He is a great addition to the friendly staff.

   We attended an event sponsored by 54 Mint. It was an evening in the northern region of Italy. The food and drinks were delicious as well as the service- very attentive but not intrusive. Overall we had a wonderful time.
