Had private dining here down in basement (9 of us) which was great. Also right next to well stocked and served bar. Able to have good conversation and room to move around during meal if wanted. Food was very good. My rib was over cooked but tasted great. If there was a 4.5 then that would be more accurate Breakfast definitely a 5. Food was superb as was the breakfast buffet. Service was excellent. Rooms were beautiful and clean.

The room we were given was cold with no heating whatsoever. We had to wear our coats until the heaters that were brought warmed it up eventually. The food was not at all good for myself and the person sitting next to me. I think they were overstretched and could not cope. We will not be returning.

131 has beautiful decor and a reputation of luxury. Shame the service does not represent such luxury or indeed simple good service. Poor attention, had to ask for the basics e.g napkins, to pour our champagne, cutlery, the bill etc.... receptionist cold and panicked! Just unorganised was the general feel. Receptionist on the way out was accomodating. Food good overall as anticipated it should be!

Appallingly bad service. Food only just ok. Staff haven’t got a clue what they are doing. Do not eat here!

Frantically busy due,I suspect in part, to Race Week in Cheltenham. However, this did not detract from superior service and helpfulness of the staff. Food divine and suggested wine by the waiter was excellent. If you can, ask for the table for four in The Library. Sumptuous. Thank you

Service of wine was very slow We also had the table right by the bar which is unfortunate as chairs bumped a lot by other guests and staff

The dinner was lovely and tasty. The staff really friendly and helpful. We found that the music was way too slow and uninspiring, especially if seating next to the fireplace, it made you fall asleep and a little sick due to the gas eliminates by the fireplace. Overall, the experience was good. We recommend you use nice and relaxing music, however a little more vibrant. :)
