   Dinner was delicious! The ginger chicken salad is a must, will for sure get this again. The Jidori chicken was so juicy and flavorful. The spaghetti amazing. We tried the porterhouse special, it came with caviar! It was awesome. We loved everything. The service was excellent.

   We frequent a lot of places in the Arts District, but first time to 1228. It was outstanding and we will add to our "dining rotation". Main menu is small, but the shareable/app menu was excellent.

   Surprised for it to be relatively empty on a Friday evening. Overall the service was slow although it was only us and one other table. The steaks were a bit overcooked and the french fries were ok for the steak frites. The scallops were relatively small for diver scallops but well cooked, the risotto tasted a bit packaged. Not sure if we’d come back for dinner, have been here for the brunch before and better food and atmosphere.

   This was the tenth time we dined at 1228 Main in the past 3 months. We love the salt and pepper shrimp and we have LOVED every entree we have tried. Make sure you get some of their outstanding pastries to take home to enjoy the next day

   Sunday morning was a great time as easy to get into at 9.30 AM. Almond Croissant was fabulous and our breakfast super.

   This Valentine’s Day dinner for our group of 5 was exceptional! Beginning with a greeting from the owner, to a champagne toast & no-charge cork fee as a Valentines gift, to an assortment of delicious dishes (we all ordered something different) to our fabulous server Juan, who made the evening so enjoyable by his attention to detail, knowledge of all the choices on the menu & story about the restaurant, to a gift from the owner as we left of an assortment of delicious pastries to take home…we could not have asked for a better evening! The trout was amazing, as the brisket and lasagna, but the winner was the truffles pot pie! And the cheesecake dessert was outstanding, different and oh so good! We will return to 1228 Main very soon indeed!

    Great local spot for a nice dinner. We went before seeing a show at Majestic across the street. Service was a tad slow at first. I assume because we were a large group and they wanted to give us time to settle in. When we explained we had a 7:30pm show they really moved. Trout was amazing!
