   I had an extremely frustrating experience at this restaurant. The service was downright terrible. I waited 40 minutes for a coffee that the server kept forgetting about. When it finally arrived, it was burnt and completely not as ordered. To make matters worse, I specifically asked for my omelette without cheese due to a dairy allergy, yet it came with cheese anyway. You’d think she’d be more detail-oriented at this point, but I also had to wait at least another 10 minutes just to get some ketchup. While it was a sweet gesture that they brought a birthday dessert, it contained dairy, so I couldn’t even eat it. Overall, a highly disappointing visit with poor service, and I won’t be coming back.

   Delicious and healthy food just off the busyness of Broadway. My ratatouille was amazing. A lot of food choices for vegans and vegetarians. Interesting and creative drink menu. Highly recommend.

   The vibe was really nice. It was like upscale treehouse with lots of plants and wood. We enjoyed our calamari appetizer, it needs a red sauce for dipping. The aioli was ok, but a marinara or cocktail sauce would be better. I got the Caesar salad with chicken and my wife got the eggplant Parmesan. I don’t know what it is about “fancy” restaurants giving full romaine leaves for Caesar salads, but it’s a lot of extra work to cut it all up without making a mess on the table with parts falling off the plate into the table. My request is for the kitchen to chop the leaves and mix in the dressing so I can simply enjoy it when it arrives instead of needing to chop it and mix it up myself for 5-10 minutes after it arrives. Also, the eggplant was a thick cut portion, but what “______ Parmesan” dish doesn’t come with pasta on the side? $30 for just a slab of eggplant is not worth it. Bread and fry the eggplant, then add some pasta to the dish with a red sauce. A big table put their order in right before our order, so we waited about 45-60 minutes for our mains to arrive. Molly was very apologetic and brought a free cocktail, then gave a hefty discount on your bill as a thank you for us being patient with the kitchen being backed up. Without the discount, the overall experience would have been about a 2 out of 5. We would give it 4 out of 5 with the discount.

   Nice restaurant with good choices of food, but the price of the food did not match the taste. Food was very bland, with small portions. There weren't high quality ingredients that would cause the prices to be where they were and the flavors were lacking. We spent $100+/person for a cocktail, app, shared salad, shared entree and shared dessert, which wouldn't be bad if the food was worth writing home about.

    Everything we had was delicious, from the crispy Brussels sprouts and smoked trout dip to start, to the abundant heirloom tomato burrata, to the perfect main dish of scallops. Michael our waiter was lovely, and we all remarked on the decor and cool vibe of 1 Kitchen. Definitely recommend.
