A Memorable Dinner at Pizzeria Libretto - University Following a later afternoon at the TSO, we had such a fantastic dining experience at Libretto. From the food to the service, everything exceeded expectations in the best way possible. Starters: We began with the Meatballs – a mix of beef, pork, and veal in a rich house sugo, topped with shaved pecorino and served with Neapolitan pizza points. While they were enjoyable, I’ll admit they didn’t quite hit the same note as they did when we first tried them back in 2019. Mains: The pizzas were the real stars of the evening: Funghi – A white pizza loaded with cremini mushrooms, gorgonzola crema, garlic, thyme, rosemary, fior di latte mozzarella, and pecorino. The combination was rich, earthy, and absolutely perfect. Housemade Sausage – Another white pizza featuring panna, fennel sausage, caramelized onions, fior di latte mozzarella, parmigiano-reggiano, chili oil, and fresh basil. It had just the right kick from the chili oil, and the sausage was packed with flavor. Both pizzas were spot-on and lived up to Libretto’s reputation for incredible Neapolitan-style pies. Drinks & Dessert: We paired our meal with a Negroni on draft and a glass of red wine recommended by our server, Jenna, which complemented the meal perfectly. For dessert, we treated ourselves to two tiramisus, and they did not disappoint. Creamy, light, and so satisfying, they were the perfect way to end the evening. Service: Jenna made the entire experience unforgettable. From the moment we walked in, she showed what professional service looks like. Despite being busy prepping tables when we arrived, she immediately paused to greet us with a warm smile and get us seated. Throughout the evening, she struck the perfect balance of attentiveness—never hovering or being overly fake. We never had to look for her when we needed something, whether it was a drink refill or a question about the menu. She took my allergies seriously, promised to double-check wi

So right off top, as we were seated we were advised out table had another booking at 630 so we would need to be done by then. Not really a big deal, but became a big deal when it took over 20 mins for anyone to come back to take an order for us. So not so great. It was cold outside , so when we sat we all kept our coats on thinking we just needed to warm up a bit. That was not the case. It was so so cold in the restaurant we all kept our coats on entire time we were there. When we finally realized we weren’t going to warm up, we mentioned something to wait staff who said the heat was having issues and yes it was cold. So they knew it was a problem but didn’t feel it important to advise us. Had we been told at the get go, we might have made a choice to dine elsewhere. I asked for a cup of tea so I could Hot hot cup in my hands to warm them up. Not once didn’t anyone apologize for the extreme cold - my daughter ate with her gloves on, and i lamented I had left mine in the car. Again not once did anyone apologize for the cold, and when I again complained how cold it was, the wait staff was almost dismissive. Overall the service was slow, we had so many different people come to table at different times but yet it was hard to get consistent service to try to order more drinks. Considering they had told us we needed to rush to get, they were not very attentive in serving us. Overall it was an extremely unpleasant dining experience and I won’t go back.

Great tasting Italian food. Good customer service - friendly staff. Service can be a bit slower during peak periods but otherwise attentive. Convenient downtown location near many landmarks and entertainment. Reasonable prices for good quality food.

Good, friendly & efficient service. Great happy hour, yet more options encouraged. Pasta was good & plentiful. Very close to Four Seasons for those wishing a good bite in advance of performances & a stone’s throw from St Andrew subway. Better marketing of venue is highly recommended!

Staff I think were new as we got mains 1st and salads after and it was a bit weird and had another small issue. Been going for years and never had that happen. Maybe they weren’t trained properly? They were all very friendly and was still a good experience and will be coming back again.

Service was very slow, took 40 minutes to get our drinks. The pizza was undercooked however the rest of the order was ok. Even though overall service was poor, our server was very apologetic and pleasant. Not the best experience.
