Best Burmese Restaurants in Portola Valley

Love the food and variety of dishes. The daily specials are of good value.

Four stars very good fits perfectly for Teakwood. We've been Burma Love fans for years and Teakwood is a welcome addition to the Hayes Valley pre-event scene. Our server was very sweet, and while service overall was a bit disjointed, it was understandable. They handled the pre-theater rush well. The atmosphere is bright and lovely and the food was very good.

The meal was outstanding, great flavors, textures, beautifully presented. The tea leaf salad, roti platha, an amazing lamb dish, great noodles, fabulous green beans and deviled eggs. Drinks were tasty and attractive.

It was a quiet, Monday night with only a cuple of other tables occupied. Service was prompt but low-energy and not very warm/friendly. I put it down to the slow business of the evening, and am hoping that it will be different on other occasions. The tea leaf salad was less flavorful than all our previous experiences, but it remains a family favorite!

Excellent service from Ally (sp?) and Melvin. Food is delicious.
