Best American Restaurants in Woodstock

This was our first time to Milton’s and it was excellent! The deviled eggs & pimento cheese appetizers were fantastic! And don’t let me forget the HOT fresh rosemary bread. DROOL! After we ate all of that, we barely had room for dinner, but we ordered the cauliflower steak and meatloaf. All were excellent. Don’t forget to get a dirty martini or two with blue cheese stuffed olives!!!

First night back in town following an afternoon flight, so I suggested we go out for dinner. Where? Well, our “go-to’s” are either Table & Main or its sister restaurant, Osteria Mattone. We had last been to OM, so T&M it is! Wife got the three course prix fixe dinner for $35 cornbread manzanilla salad with half a chicken with parsnips, (half of which came home!) and bananas foster pudding (NONE of which came home!) For me, I tried the butternut squash & poblano bisque followed by the new menu’s pot roast dinner entree. I found myself wishing the soup had a little more “kick” but the pot roast lived up to waiter Conner’s description and is deserving of a spot in the rotation of meals I will order!

Was looking for a place in downtown for a quick dinner before a show and chose this because they took reservations. While we didn’t need one we found this place to be perfect for what we wanted. We were seated immediately and our waitress did a wonderful job. I had the pork carnita tacos which were awesome and my husband had a burger which he said was delicious. I would definitely recommend for a nice meal and drinks.

This was our second visit in the span of one week and, once again, we were so thrilled with our whole experience. The ambience continues to amaze us, the comfort at our booth in the bar area was soothing, the over the top excellent service provided by Andrea was spot on . . .friendly, professional and her timing of bringing the dishes to our table was superb. Oh, and did I forget to mention the food??? It was so delicious and such an outstanding value on the $20 Sunday early dinner menu. I had the baby back ribs which were so tender the meat fell off the bones, and it came with my favorite comfort food, Mac and cheese and also in house made coleslaw. A tasty combination can highly recommend. My husband had the Veal Piccata which he also enjoyed immensely. All I can say is the Cherokee Chophouse is our absolute new favorite restaurant and we plan to go there at least once a week to try more of the temping dishes in the extensive menu. One more thing I would like to mention is the Supper Club Serenade production they are currently presenting in a limited engagement in November and December. It’s called the Vintage Vibes featuring Haden Rider paying tribute to the Crooner Greats from Sinatra to Buble. Tickets include a meal and the show. Great night with my wife. The appetizers and entrees were delicious and the service excellent. It was a chilly night and would have enjoyed the propane heater outside, but the chill caught everyone by surprise and Reel did not have this tanks filled yet. Other than that, a perfect evening!
