The Durham Ox is a family owned traditional village Inn offering friendly and efficient service; showcasing the best of local produce in our menu, as well as stocking an extensive range of wines and cask ales.     2nd time to the Durham OX. It was so good the 1st time we brought friends with us this time. Service is great. Very attentive staff. Atmosphere is comfy and cozy. Food is fantastic. The destination is about a 40 minute drive for us but absolutely worth it. I highly recommend anyone going for a visit. I look forward to our next one.

    With the bad reviews on here was expecting it to be bad and was pleasently surpised when it wasnt they were quick with drinks and food and the staff were brillant the food was good even though a little dear but it was alcart so thats what you pay for but overall it was good we enjoyed it Thank you for a nice meal

    Our first visit here and could not fault the experience. My flat iron steak with side orders was perfect. Not a crumb left. Hubby’s pork cheek very tender and the beef burger did not disappoint. I finished old school with Baked Alaska the perfect end to our meal. Ronnie was our main waiter but all staff looked after us really well. Great ambience and looking forward to returning.

    Arrived an hour before our lunch booking and were seated with no problem. Ordered from the market menu, 3 delicious courses with a glass of fizz. Super efficient and polite staff, great ambiance. My 2nd visit, won’t be the last. Definitely a ‘go to’ destination in York for lunch or dinner
