The Hop Vine formerly the ‘Royal Hotel’ was built in 1874 and was the main stopping off point for goods being transported to and from the old Turnpike road the A59. The Royal as it was known has served the community and travellers alike. I visited you on 21st Nov at 1:30 with two friends. Two people ordered the Turkey main dish. Although we eat the food. It was very disappointing. The roast potatoes and stuffing was very over cooked. The turkey looked and tasted pre packed. In no way did we think the turkey was cooked in the kitchen. The gravy was terrible which I left and left some of the turkey.

Had a meal a change from hospital food. It took about half an hour to recieve the food after our order, only another family was in so it wasnt overly busy. We ordered a starter and 2 mains, they later asked if we wanted the starter 1st or with our mains, so as we needed to get back to the hospital we had it all together, nachos, fish and chips, and burger and chips, very nice food, served hot, and presentable. Would go ago again if we are in hospital across the road x
