The Boathouse is a quirky and very pretty place to enjoy quality tapas and drinks. Right on Waterside in Upton-upon-Severn, it overlooks the River Severn and serves breakfast and coffee in the morning, followed by Mediterranean- and British-style tapas for the rest of the day. The nature of tapas of course requires sharing, making The Boathouse a very popular spot indeed for casual yet elegant dining, regardless of the occasion.     The food was marvellous - we had 2 courses each. Didn't fancy the dumpling veggie starter so had bread and butter. Friend had scallops and duck which she liked. My cauliflower steak was good, with chips on the side and a couple glasses of Shiraz. Lovely service, but the restaurant is quiet - 3 tables occupied for lunch. I think it has something to do with the decor which is tired, old fashioned - in contrast to the food. The waiter said they are planning to update it, and I would say get on with it, because the exterior is appealing and so is the food, but the decor lets it down. Spotless loos, always a plus.

    A lovely place for that something special meal. The food is always exceptional, you are warmly welcomed on arrival and the service is perfect. There is a good choice on the menu, with different selections and recommendations to suit all. We have been to eat here many times and never fails to please. The music nights are great here, with or without a meal. Definitely recommend.
