The LaChona brand was born out of a love for sharing incredible wine with close friends and family. Ask any Argentinian what their favorite pastime is and they will likely say “asado con familia”, or grilling with the family. Slow-cooked lechon, fire-kissed chorizo, and hand-crafted empanadas born of generational influences and traditions are all paired with the perfect Malbec, Cabernet Franc, or Semillon every Sunday. Probably the best food and cocktails in Portland. That is saying a lot. Gorgeous ambiance and very good service. Highly recommend the lychee martini and scallops. Creative, high level flavors and presentations. Only dings are the menu on QR codes or flimsy unreadable paper. So, phone lights going on all over the tables. Also, the corkage fees exceed NYC, ($120 for 2 bottles) so we passed on our favorite bottles saved for birthday celebration from home cellar.

The most amazing manicotti I’ve ever had. It’s hard to walk that line of ‘there’s a lot going on here’ and ‘there’s too much going on here’; and every dish nailed it at Don’s. Every course was perfectly timed, the service was amazing. It was pretty cold inside the restaurant so I would highly recommend wearing a sweater, but the wine selections are so good they’ll warm you right up! We can’t wait to come back at the next special occasion! 🎉
