The Axe and Compasses is a traditional British village pub dating back to 1628, serving a wide and varied selection of quality lagers, cask conditioned ales, fine wines, and premium spirits. As always, the meal was excellent. It was an 'old' school friends reunion, the extensive menu catered for all of our tastes. The service again as always leaves other eateries in the shade, friendly, unobtrusive, but on hand if we needed anything. Thank you to Gareth, Kate, and the team we all enjoyed our lunch. Proper Mexican food. Everything was delicious! Had the special “carne en su jugo” it was as good as the one in Mexico. Hope they keel this dish in the menu.

Brought some friends from out of town. Nice pub but the beef was a bit tough for the Sunday roast. Will go again. Nice friendly staff and good value for money.
