Good tasty roast beef but served warm not hot on a cold plate. Ambience of the Crown is bare boards.

Staff were very helpful with the two coeliacs in our party and had excellent knowledge of the menu and ingredients! His ability to memorise all our choices was remarkable! Lovely food; we had a great family party.

Our waitress was charming and efficient, especially when some late arriving customers started being rather loud - she moved us without a quibble, so we could finish an excellent meal in peace. The food is very well judged and portions generous. The appetiser of lobster bisque was rich in flavour and the game terrine packed with goodies. Puddings were delicious - both the crème brûlée and the rice pudding with armagnac. Overall, excellent.

The menu served is nothing like the menu that is on the website. Much smaller. Food we tasty but over priced for what you can get in a restaurant across the road. Many other options in the area. Breakfast was very good if you are staying there.

Love the rest in a big roomy restaurant with warm heat and elbow room where the pizza is delicious and the service is fast.
