Kokkari (pronounced “Ko-Kar-ee”) is a small fishing village located on the islands of Samos in the Aegean Sea, whose name is derived from the small onions that were once produced in the nearby fields. Its fertile soil and Mediterranean climate translated into an abundance of fresh produce as well as treasured seafood and game. Legend tells that Kokkari is the site where Orion, a mighty hunter and a young man of gigantic stature and great beauty, fell in love with the daughter of the king of Chios. For the love of her, Orion forged the island for wild game and seafood to prepare elaborate banquets in celebration of their love. An exceptionally stylish supper club, civilized speakeasy, a sophisticated saloon.     Very VERY GOOD…this was my first time and we started with the patatas bravas….(fried potatoes with a tomato element) excellent 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 we had the crispy chicken and gnocchi and pork entrees…..all very very good 👍🏼 followed by pans cotta …. Wonderful!! I’ll b back….the waiter was excellent and had such a nice demeanor, we really enjoyed the meal and atmosphere ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

    Our experience at Nisei was phenomenal. It was our last night of our honeymoon, and the team and Chef David ensured that everything was an incredible experience from the moment we walked in. The food was so delicious, beautifully plated, and many times very surprising. The team recommended a sake for us to try to ensure it met our taste expectations before purchasing it. The entire experience lasted about 3 hours, and we left there ready to plan our anniversary trip back to San Francisco just to enjoy Nisei again. We wholeheartedly recommend Nisei to anyone looking for an amazing culinary adventure.

    This is what an excellent dining experience is about. From the greeter at the front, full of warm welcomes on a rainy evening to the general manager re-seating us due to a wobbly table we had the most amazing evening. Service is excellent, Christian and the house managers were attentive polite and professional. The sommelier as well chose our white and red wines and nailed it! The food goes without saying, we had pear salad, crudeo and pasta. The special white truffle pasta as a share was amazing. Duck, scallops, lobster pasta as mains. Benigets for dessert with a vanilla and dark chocolate sauce. Cocktails also supreme, old fashioned, martini's and a Paper Plate! We really had such a wonderful time and it reminded me of the wonder of our city and the talented restaurant chefs, and servers in the Presidio.

    Everything was fantastic! Service, food, value, atmosphere. Everyone was so sweet and accommodating. Felt like we were welcome family. The taste of everything was delectable! So many great options. Would highly highly recommend for a date night or gather! Can’t wait to come again!
